LMK: Tamarin Oneshots

We meet again, twice.

After her confrontation with Princess Iron Fan, Leona ends up on Flower Fruit Mountain, separated from MK. But with the help of the Monkeys, she finds him with Sun Wukong, whom is very nervous about first meeting the reincarnation of his past lover.

Leona groans as she slowly opens her royal blue eyes and sees a small troop of monkeys staring at her, their expressions one of curiosity and concern.

She feels dizzy and tries to sit up, but quickly loses her balance and falls back down, causing more panic among the tiny monkeys.

She blinks a few times before realising that she is laying on a beach next to some sort of lush jungle.

"What... what happened? Where am I?" She questions, still disoriented. "And where's MK!?" She yells out, suddenly remembering the last thing that happened.

And then her eyes widened in horror. "Oh god, I hope he's okay." She mutters while panicking slightly.

She turns around only to see more monkey's emerging from the jungle, staring at her.

The monkeys soon crowd around her, the closest ones reaching out to touch her.

Leona flinches a bit, but begins to calm down when she realises that these cute animals are just curious about her.

Hang on...a lot of monkeys, thick jungle, tall mountains...This must be Flower Fruit Mountain!

Leona's eyes widen and she smiles wide. She then looks down towards the little monkey's and asks, "Excuse me, but have any of you seen my friend, MK? He's a spikey haired kid with a red bandana."

All the monkeys stare at each other for several seconds until they suddenly break into excited chatter. They then grab a hold of Leona's hand and begin leading her through the jungle towards a giant waterfall.

"Woah, this the same waterfall that Sun Wukong jumped through when he became King of the monkeys!" She exclaimed excitedly as she marvelled over the beauty of the sight.

The monkeys seem quite amused by her comment. They now start to lead the brunette woman towards a pathway, up to a secret entrance behind some large vines.

"Oh, this must be the secret way into Shuilian Cave, right?" She guesses, and she receives nods in response from the other monkeys.

"Awesome. Thanks little ones." She replies gratefully.

Leona then enters the small cave entrance, following after the monkeys.

When they finally reached the end of the tunnel, the troop come across an old mural that showed the five pilgrims from the book 'Journey to the West'.

There was Sun Wukong in the centre, surrounded by his old travelling companions; The Great Monk Tang Sanzang, Zhu Bajie the Celestial Swine, Sha Wujing the sand river Ogre, and Ao Lie the White Dragon Horse.

"Wow," Leona breathes in amazement. When she was a teenager, her Dad gave her the Journey to the West book for her 13th birthday. As soon as she started reading it, she was hooked. She spent every day after school reading it whenever she could. It became her favourite book.

Back to the present, Leona suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"Alright!" She hears MK cheer.

"MK?" Leona calls out in disbelief. She walks closer towards the source of the voice and spots the delivery boy standing next to none other than...Sun Wukong!

She then runs towards her friend. "MK!" She shouts, running and tackling him in a hug.

"Leona?" MK seems surprised by her sudden appearance, but soon reciprocates the hug.

Leona pulls away and checks him over for injuries. "Oh my god, are you alright? Did Iron Fan hurt you?" She questioned worriedly.

"Aha' I'm fine Leona, I'm okay," He assures her and gives her a reassuring smile.

The woman sighs in relief. "Good." She then ruffles MK's head affectionately. "You really had me worried there, kiddo" She laughs quietly.

"Sorry Leona," MK apologises sheepishly. "I didn't mean to make you worry."

"It's fine." Leona tells him with a soft smile. "It happens."

MK doesn't know how else to respond so he simply hugs her again.

"Ahem..." Sun Wukong clears his throat and both of them look at him. "Sorry to interrupt this sweet little reunion, but..."

"Oh yeah. Leona, meet Monkey King. Monkey King, Leona," MK introduces the two of them.

The tall woman and the humanoid monkey both gaze into each other's eyes.

A spark ignites in Leona's chest, and she can feel butterflies fluttering in her stomach.

Wukong also feels his heart quickening. He gulps audibly, trying to compose himself.

They continue gazing at each other until Leona snaps out of it and looks away with a blush.

"Um...Hello," She greets awkwardly.

The Monkey King gives her a warm smile. But as he was about to speak, he let out a high-pitched chirping sound. 

The two humans stare at him in shock.

Wukong suddenly gets very flustered and covers his mouth in embarrassment. While MK looked abit confused, Leona just snickers.
That was so cute!

From what she learned about monkey behaviour, while watching Animal documentaries, she assumes that the chirping means that Wukong is happy to meet her.

"It's, nice to meet you too." Leona responds with a bright smile. The Monkey King stares in admiration at her smile.

MK then speaks up, suddenly realising..."Wait? How are we supposed to get back to the city!?
