The life of Maya and Carina

Chapter 82:

Maya "we haven't be out in a while", she said speaking to her wife as the two of them started doing laundry together. Carina "I know, that's truly because we have a large family, lots of kids. We don't exactly always have alone time", Maya "I know. But the kids will be with Travis for a few more days so I think we could take advantage of that and maybe go out. Just me and you", Carina "that sounds like a great idea".

Maya "do you remember this day", she said showing her wife a photo of them with their friends from their wedding. Carina "I remember like it was yesterday, you were so nervous that day it was so cute. I remember how long it took for you to find something to wear, and I said I could help you out but you wanted to see my outfit and I just couldn't let you", she laughed. Maya "Andy was so helpful and just the face that we have so many amazing friends is just unreal", Carina "I remember going into the restaurant that day seeing it all decorated, I got very emotional", Maya "me too I was emotional I couldn't even say my vow to you so I winged it", Carina "I thought it was adorable because I had never seen you so nervous about anything".

Carina "remember this", Maya "yeah, just before Andy had arrived, we dancing around singing chapel of love. We just admiring each other before our big celebration", Carina "you know it I could redo it all, I wouldn't change anything for the world. We had our ups and downs but that's okay, because when you love someone so deeply, you make up", Maya "do you remember when we went on our vacation,
I panicked because my team was attending to a large fire and I wasn't there", Carina "yeah. I told you to focus on me and to not worry. I also remembered how you impressed me. That push-up competition had with the guy that kept flirting really put him in his place", Maya "and you should of seen the reaction on his face and his friends faces when they saw us kiss", Carina "that was so funny. But by far one of the toughest things I've gone through was losing my little brother. I remembered when we were waiting in the small church in the hospital, I couldn't light the candle because my hand kept shaking, you lit it for me and then told me you were going nowhere because being with me was where you belonged", Maya "I know that he's looking down on you right now and he's so proud of you and the family we built together", Carina "he would have loved to be an uncle to his nieces and nephews", Maya "I know". Just as the washing machine went off, Maya "should we go out somewhere", Carina "I don't know. What were you thinking", Maya "maybe a nice walk on the beach. You know at the Santa Monica pier", Carina "sure, that sounds like fun", Maya "and then we could grab something to eat", Carina "let's finish the rest of this laundry first", Maya "okay". Another hour had passed when they finally finished doing the laundry. Maya "should we go freshen up and then head out", Carina "sure", the two of them climbed into the shower, washing up and brushing their teeth. A few minutes after they got dressed into outfits they picked out for one another, and Carina went back to the bathroom to do her makeup. Maya did the same just in the bedroom instead of the bathroom. Carina "heard from your sister", Maya "her and the others are over at Danai's place", Carina "okay cool. Wait what about the kids", Maya "Kelvin and Isabel", Carina "ah okay", once the two of them were finished, they headed out the door, and of course they took the puppies with them, since they didn't want to leave them alone. It was pretty when they arrived at the beach, it was just the two of them there and they enjoyed having it to themselves. Maya "should we let them go", Carina "why not, I mean we brought some toys so we could play with them", they started playing with the dogs, Ford loved the water, Jeff wasn't a fan she loved the sand more than the water, they were both complete opposite but both enjoyed playing. Maya "this is very relaxing and soothing just me and you, no kids. We should kind of do this more often", she said before kissing Carina on the neck. Carina "I totally agree, it's nice having some alone time, we could just spend together and not have to be worried about being interrupted", Maya "yeah", Carina "you know Andrew really loved the beach, he got it from my mom. She'd always took us", Maya "what did he love the most about the beach", she said wrapping her arms around Carina's waist, Carina leaned her head against Maya's shoulder, Carina "the water, he loved collecting or finding little creatures, and then he would build a sand castle for every creature he had found. I remember once he brought a crab home, when my mom went to clean our backpacks from the beach she saw it and screamed. It was absolutely hilarious, me and my brother couldn't stop laughing", Maya "what was your favorite thing about the beach", Carina "messing with Andrew's castles, he always allowed the wreck some of them, not the ones that had creatures in them, the ones that didn't. I would take my Barbie car and smash into the castles, pretending like my Barbies had gotten into an accident, it always made him laugh, that's what I miss the most about him, his smile and his laugh", Maya "you know the day after he passed you were so sad, I had never seen you like that before. You were laying on the floor, I remember coming home from work that day and found you actually asleep, I was so happy and relieved, so relieved I laid next to you", Carina "if it wasn't for you I don't think I would have ever been able to feel comfort again, you helped me through one of the hardest times in my life and I thank you so much babe", Maya "you're welcome, and I'll always be here", Carina "I know". Maya " should we get something to eat now", Carina "sure", Maya " have anything in mind", Carina "we have to have the pizza, it's literally the best here", Maya "okay, sounds good to me. Should I get a separate pizza since I'm getting pineapple on mine", Carina's face went blank, Maya "I'm joking babe", Carina "pineapples do not belong on pizza", Maya " I know that. lol", z Carina "you're hilarious and I love you", Maya "I love you too", they got to the pizza place, Maya ordered while Carina played with the dogs. After getting the pizza and two drinks, Maya also bought the dogs some treats since they had a place right next door to the pizza shop. The two of them enjoyed their pizza, while the dogs also enjoyed their own food/treats. Carina stared into her wife's beautiful eyes, Maya "what", she said smiling, Carina "you have the prettiest eyes", Carina "thanks babe. And you have the sweetest smile", Carina "thanks. Do you wanna walk all way to the end of the boardwalk", Maya "sure", the dogs stood beside them as they took their walk, admiring everything they saw. Carina "you know I had never dreamed that we would have the big family that we have today", Maya "me either. But I love all of our kids, and they are different ages so it's so fun to watch them grow", Carina "yeah. Would who have known after meeting we would get married not too long after and the welcomed our first child", Maya "yeah. I'm so proud of us", Carina "me too". Carina "so what's been the best part of our journey", Maya "our relationship growing and getting stronger. And yours", Carina "loving you, and being able to grow with you". Ford and Jeff stopped and started sniffing around a secluded area of the pier, Carina "what are they doing", Maya "I'm not sure, but they appear to be sniffing something", Carina and Maya hurried to where the dogs were at, Maya "it's a suitcase", Carina "do you think a you know what could be in there", Maya "I hope not, but let's call the police just to be sure and safe", Carina "okay",
Carina called the police while Maya held both dogs on the leash. Four officers arrived, and unfortunately what Carina and Maya thought was in the suitcase was indeed in the suitcase. They gave a statement even though they didn't know anything, and then headed somewhere else for the remainder of their date. Maya "are you okay", Carina "I don't know how people could me so cruel, and it's a child", Maya "I know honey, this is why we are so overprotective of our kids", Carina "yeah". Maya "so what do you wanna do now", Carina "enjoy the rest of our day together", Maya "okay", Carina "ooh, we should get ice cream", Maya "isn't it a bit cold for that", Carina "its a bit chilly not winter cold", Maya "okay, let's go", Maya got chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles and Carina got vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, Maya "you got a little something on your nose", she giggled, I never quite understood how the ice cream would manage to get on my nose", Maya "it happens to all of us", Carina "yeah. Today was so perfect", Maya "it was, I love when we have alone time together", Carina "yeah me too. Ah Bellina look at the sunset, it's so love and pretty", Maya "it is", Carina "how do you think the kids are doing with Travis", Maya "I'm sure they are fine, worry about this moment", Carina "okay bellina. How's your niece doing after her accident", Maya "She's doing way better, the bruise is going away", Carina "how did it happen again", Maya "you remember the prop used at the end of Satine opening number, it was moved by the production team and she was on it, she fell off", Carina "yikes, I think we should just stay right here, just enjoy the rest of the sunset on the bench", Maya "okay". The two of them sat down on the bench, Ford was lying on Maya and Jeff was lying on Carina. They enjoyed the view of the sunset, Carina "I love you so much", Maya "I love you too", Carina "we definitely need to do this again because this was literally so much fun, just us. It's so relaxing", Carina "yeah it is", Maya "So there's donut spot not too far from here, do you wanna go get a donut or two", Carina "sure, let's go", the two of them locked hands together, each of them holding one of the dogs, taking the ten minute walk to the donut shop. Maya "so what donuts do you want", Carina "sugar and chocolate with sprinkles", Maya "okay", Maya entered the store ordering, five minutes later they received what they wanted and took off.

Carina "do you remember this", Maya "yeah, that was when we first started dating, I thought I was the one that wrecked my firefighter family, and I thought I was causing all the problems", Carina "and I told you it wasn't your fault, and I kept you company", Maya "yeah, you always know how to make me feel better, your words, your cuddles. You just know how to make me the best version of myself", Carina "I'm more than happy to be able to do that. Here we are married, and we have the best family ever", Maya "I know. I really wish our kids would stop growing so much and so fast. It's pretty hard to process", Carina "it's hitting you isn't it", Maya "yeah, I mean think about it, Kam was five when she started working with Witney and now she's nine, I can't. They grow too fast", Carina "I wish they could slow down but, I mean I love watching them grow, become more involved and just seeing them become independent", Maya "yeah, me too". The two of them finally made it back home after their date.

Ending their date with some steamy alone time since the others were still out.
