The Younger Shen

Chapter 4 - Изменения

The young Shen slowly opens his jade eyes, the sun creeps through the small gaps in the wall of the run-down hut. He groans and slowly gets up, Binghe is still asleep and Xue Mao has snuggled up close with the white lotus. A sudden thought crosses Shen Yuan's mind, he wonders what Shen Jiu is up to. He is the Scum Villain after all, but he is also brother of the character Shen Yuan is currently inhibiting. Brushing off the thought, Shen Yuan slowly stands up and dusts himself off, he walks out the door and goes off the search for some kind of food.

As he walks the transmigrator quietly sings cpr to himself, if anyone heard him saying these words he'd for sure be beaten to a pulp or kicked out of the village. The young Shen pushes these thoughts away and thinks it's best to just not sing modern day songs. As if by luck, Shen Yuan spots a man selling meatbuns.

Wait, meatbuns were the things that killed me. Oh well, I can't really starve the protagonist.

When the man isn't looking, Shen Yuan manages to grab an armful of meatbuns and dash away just before the seller sees the young boy stealing the cursed food. Sprinting, Shen Yuan drops one or two meatbuns on his way back to Binghe and Xue Mao, who are still in the hut. The transmigrator tries to catch his breath when he finally arrives at his destination, he walks in and sees Binghe laying down on the bed and staring at the ceiling as Xue Mao is sleeping on top of the white lotus. The sight is actually quite comical.

Walking next to the bed, Shen Yuan hands Binghe a meatbun and places the rest on a small plate that just barely fits them all. He grabs one meatbun and sits down on the hard, dirty floor. The young Shen starts chomping quietly away on his newly acquired food, hoping that today won't be too bad.

Shen Yuan watches the fight unfold before his eyes, a skilful young man attacks a demon who decided to cause havoc in the small city Shen Yuan's been living on the outskirts of for the past couple years. The young man had a rather pretty boy face, but his attacks and fighting style were ruthless. The transmigrator was currently watching the fight from a nearby tree, it has enough leaves that you could probably hide 10 people inside it. The fight on the ground is probably the most interesting thing all year. Shen Yuan thinks back on how long ago Fu Xiyi died, 2 years ago he thinks it was. Shen Yuan was eight when that happened, he's now 10.

The young man fighting the demon had finally won, and Shen Yuan held back a cheer, he couldn't get caught now. Noticing the man's uniform, Shen Yuan concluded that he must be from Bai Zhan Peak. Disciples from there often come down to fight demons, or occasionally, Qing Jing Peak disciples. None of them were as intriguing as the one Shen Yuan saw now, for some reason Shen Yuan had a feeling that he knew him from somewhere. He just couldn't figure out exactly where from.

As soon as the young man left, the transmigrator began to practise his Cultivation, it was always relaxing to do so. All his worries soon dissapeared, he felt at ease, spiritual qi flowed through his entire form. Shen Yuan focused on moving leaves around, it was one of the easiest ways for him to practise. It also allowed him to get some more relaxing in.

The young Shen took a deep breath and let all his worries dissapear. Though, before he could relax long a voice came from behind him. "Who are you?" The voice was gruff and clearly belonged to an adult, when Shen Yuan turned around, he was face to face with a large bearded man. His hair had gone grey, most likely from old age.

Shen Yuan gulped when he saw the man, he didn't look friendly, not at all. The man sneered down at the young boy, his eyes filled with disgust and hatred. "What's a dirty little brat like you doing out here?" His voice was raspy and sounded hoarse. The young Shen didn't know whether or not he should answer the strange man at all, so he simply ran.
