You walked through the maze of tents and notated two humans talking to Janai and Amaya. You didn't recognize them.

"I'm sorry but we have no more room every tent is full." Janai said.

The woman looked up at the man, likely her husband. She was extremely pregnant.

You felt awful. You walked up to them. "Actually, there is one tent left..."

Janai looked at you and raised an eyebrow.

"They can have mine. I'll figure something out." You said.

"We can't ask you to do that." The woman said.

You looked at her then at her round belly then up at her once more. You raised an eyebrow before shaking your head. "You need it more than I do."

" Freya, we have nowhere to go and this person is nice enough to offer us a place to stay..." the man said.

She sighed and nodded. "Oh, alright. Is there anything we can do to repay you?"

"No, it's all right just give me some time to remove my belongings..."

-.-.-

You pulled out the crate full of your few belongings. A few books, your cloths and boots and a few other small items you had brought with you to Xadia.

You carried the crate and set it by the wall as you watched the couple enter the tent hat had once been your 'room'

Kazi, your first elf friend, walked up to you. "Hey, isn't that your tent?"

"It was, but they needed it more than I do." You admired quietly.

"Where are you staying now?"

You shrugged. "I'll figure it out...hopefully..."

They shook their head. "I can't just leave you to sleep in the stalls with the horses and inferno-tooth tigers."

"Kazi that's a brilliant idea! We have an empty stall that'll-"

They placed a hand over your mouth, causing you to blush. "My tent is pretty big, why don't you just stay in their? Both of us will fit quite comfortably."

You looked away and tried to get rid of your blush. "Kazi I can't ask you to do that!"

"But I want too. Besides, it'll be fun. I only use half my tent anyway."

You nodded. "I guess it wouldn't hurt..." you admitted as you picked up your crate and fallowed Kazi to their tent.

Later, another bed was added to the other side of the tent and the two of you hung a sheet to provide as a makeshift wall for privacy. You currently had it tied up so you could see one another.

Kazi was laying on their bed with a book in their hands. You blushed at how cute they were when they were in their own world.

Kazi, noticing that they were bing watched, looked up at you and gave you a shy smile before looking back at the book.

You picked up your own book and plopped down on your bed, you fell asleep moments later.

-.-.-

When you woke, kazi was nowhere In sight. You rose to your feet and went looking for them. You found Kazi in the makeshift library, you weren't surprised.

Kazi looked up at you and smiled. "Hey y/n."

You sat next to them. "Hi," you whispered, peeking at the book they were reading. It was one you had read only once and long ago. The book was somehow still fresh in your brain though. It was one of those rare books you never actually forgot about.

You realized you were staring at Kazi and looked away, quickly picking up a random book and opening it. You read about half a page before setting it down again. You had too much to think about right now to concern yourself with books.

Kazi looked over at you and smiled. "What's on your mind?" They asked, placing their book aside and giving you their full attention.

You sighed and shrugged. "I've just... got a lot to think about..."

Kazi gently grabbed your hand. "Hey.... I'm here if you ever need to talk..."

You smiled. Kazi really was a great friend. "Thank you kazi..." you paused and stood. "I think I'll go for a walk, I just need to clear my mind."

"Would you like some company or do you need a moment alone?"

You smiled and held out your hand to help Kazi up. "Company would be nice..."

Kazi smiled and the two of you headed out of the camp and into the forest together.

-.-.-

You weren't really sure how it happened but the two of you somehow ended up waist deep in the cool water of a river, splashing one another mercilessly, laughing so hard you could hardly breathe.

Kazi lunged and you both fell into the water. You came up gasping for air with Kazi right beside you, a huge grin on their face.

The two of you headed back to the camp dripping wet but happy. Janai just shook her head. "Children..." she whispered as the two of you walked passed her.

You and kazi went into the tent you shared and dried off, both in a wonderful mood.

You smiled. Suddenly, Kazi's face grew serious. "Y/n...I...there's something you should know..."

"What? What is it?" You asked afraid that something was horribly wrong.

And with that, Kazi leaned forward and pressed their lips on yours. "I love you..." they whispered once the two of you had parted from the kiss.

You chuckled out of disbelief and kissed them again. "I love you too..."
