Jay's POV
I walk out of the bathroom in nothing but a towel wrapped loosely around my waist, not surprised when I see Talia lying on my bed.
She grins when she sees me. "Hey fiance" She says, and I hum as I turn off the bathroom light. "Hey baby mama," I say in return, causing her to laugh.
It's been two weeks since the proposal/pregnancy reveal. Safe to say 'Fiance' is her new favourite word.
"We need to leave in half an hour for the appointment," She tells me, and I nod as I walk into our closet, grabbing some clothes to change into.
"Shirt and jeans Jay! You're not wearing a suit to our ultrasound!" Talia yells from the bedroom, and I roll my eyes playfully before continuing to zip up the jeans I had already picked out.
Talia says I wear suits way too often, and when I'm working from home, I don't need to be wearing a suit. It's odd, since I've pretty much been wearing them every day since I was eighteen- Issac said I must look presentable. Even at home.
If he was to see the multiple jeans, t-shirts, pyjama pants, sweatpants and even the few hoodies in my closet, I wish I was joking when I say he would cause a fit.
I walk out of the closet a minute later in black jeans and a dark grey jumper, seeing Talia still lying sprawled in the bed. I smile, a bit amused by her.
We have her ultrasound today. She wants to leave early- simply out of fear we'll somehow be late.
Yet here she lies, in nothing but her underwear and one of my shirts, scrolling on her phone.
"Have you told your family yet?" She asks me, and I hum, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "I put it in the letters," I say. I won't get a response from the triplets, but Clayton and the twins will write back. They're not exactly allowed, but they do it secretly.
I take Talia's phone from her hands and toss it on the bed beside us. Her eyes flicker to me.
"Talia, we leave in fifteen minutes" I remind her, and she curses, quickly getting off the bed and going straight to the closet while I laugh.

"Are you nervous?" Talia asks, glancing at me. I shake my head gently, grabbing her hand in my own. "Don't be nervous. Everything is going to be fine" I tell her, and she takes a deep breath, nodding her head to herself.
We've been waiting in this room for close to ten minutes now. Talia lying on the chair, growing more nervous by the second, and I stand beside her, still a bit surprised this is real.
"What if-" I lean down, placing a gentle kiss on her frowning lips. I slowly pull away, meeting her eyes. "What if you trust me when I say everything will be okay?" I whisper, just as the door opens.
I peck her lips one last time before standing back up, my eyes moving to the woman that just walked in. She smiles at us, closing the door behind her.
"Talia and Jay right?" She says, and Talia squeezes my hand tighter. "Yeah, that's us" Talia smiles back.
The woman takes a seat on the little stool on the opposite side of Talia. "I'm Katie. I'll be your doctor. Now I understand this is your first pregnancy?". Talia nods her head.
Katie hums. "I just need to ask you some questions, okay?"
For the next few minutes, she asks us a series of questions about our past and current health, writing it all down on some clipboard she has.
I leave the talking to Talia, and stay by her side, gently caressing her hand I'm holding with my thumb.
Katie finally nods, seeming done with her questions. "Perfect. Now, is there anything else you'd like to tell me?" She looks between me and Talia, mainly at Talia.
