"I think I've really, really upset her." Sobbed Fred. George was squeezing his hands. "What if she hates me? What if I've really messed things up?"

"Look, she cares about you way too much to hate you, we both know that. Anyway Ginny will be back soon with your wand and she said she'd talk to her."

"I'm just worried about her, what if something's really wrong?" He said. "Do you know something? Anything?" He sniffed.

"Okay will you promise not to tell anybody if I say something?" Said George reluctantly. He couldn't lie to his twin. Not when he was in this state.

"Yes, anything."

"And you won't get mad at me? Because I know we're always honest with each other but she said she was going to tell you and it had to come from her."

"What is it?"

"Ugh I'm going to hell for breaking my promise, but...it is Chrissy." Sighed George.

"I knew it. She said she was okay, I knew it was about me neglecting her, I've been an awful friend." He said.

"It's not that, Freddie." George said gently."Think about it. She wants to spend all her time with you, she slept in your sweater every night ever since you gave it to her and she hurts every time you mention Chrissy. Now that you and Chrissy are getting serious, she's given herself space and pulled away from you and given the sweater back. Notice she didn't do it directly and she didn't say goodbye. Now what does that tell you?"

"That she's not okay with me and Chrissy but she doesn't want to upset me or make me feel like I have to choose because that's the sort of understanding, warm and kind person she is."

"Getting warmer." Said George.

"She should've just said if she wanted more time with me."

"Oh my dear brother, I always was the smarter twin." George said. "Do I really have to spell it out for you?"

"Spell what out?" He asked.

George rolled his eyes. "Hermione likes you. And not just as a friend. Freddie, she told me she has feelings for you and by the sounds of it, they're pretty serious. She said it's too difficult and she needs space from you and Chrissy. I don't want to give too much away but it sounds like more than just a crush." Said George.

"She what?" Asked Fred.

Ginny poked her head round the door and handed Fred his wand. "So I've spoken to Hermione, she's told me what's wrong with her. I can't tell you but it's not anything you've done, you're not in the wrong in any of it and she still really wants to hang out with you tomorrow."

"Gin, he knows." Said George.

"You told him...wait, you knew?" Asked Ginny.

"I was sworn to secrecy." Shrugged George. "Anyway, I think we need to leave Freddie alone with his thoughts for a while." George said, ruffling his twin's hair. Fred was staring into space, not really knowing what to think.

'Fred said he'd be over just before 6. How the hell do I get over him now? I've just got to stick it through. Looking after Jackson will probably help distract me and we can spend some time together so he doesn't freak out. This is a good thing, although he's cutting it a bit fine.' Hermione thought. She looked at the clock. 5:57.

And then BAM! He apparated into her living room.

"Sorry I'm a bit late." He said.

"No, no you're fine." She said.
