Fred came back and joined Hermione on the sofa. He scooped her up and pulled her towards him.

"So what were you saying to Jackson earlier?" She asked.

"Oh about lots of kissing, yeah that's a promise I'm about to live up to." He said, leaning in, but Hermione stopped him by putting her fingers on his lips. "Hey!" He said.

"I mean about being your girlfriend, you didn't even ask me. How are you so sure I'd say yes anyway?" She said, narrowing her eyes. "You can't just assume we're a thing."

"Oh come on, how irresistible am I? Plus we make a great team, AND Jackson put it on his Christmas list plus you owe it to me for clobbering me with a baseball bat and also George told me."

"Oh god." She said, screwing her eyes shut. "Of course he did."

"Hermione you could've told me any time." He said.

"I didn't want to stop you being happy and when you got with her, you seemed so happy. I knew if I told you, you might break up with her to make me happy and I felt like if you were going to break up with someone, it should be for you and not just because of me."

"Oh Hermione." He said, squeezing her tight. "I can't believe you were going to spend Christmas on your own just to avoid me."

"I'm sorry. And I'm sorry that I made you feel like things were your fault, I really didn't mean to." Hermione said sadly.

"I'm sorry for even bringing someone else into the equation. It should just be me and you and it always should've been. I should've told you how I felt about you ages ago." Said Fred.

"You...you felt the same as me before Chrissy?" She asked in disbelief. Fred smirked and nodded. "Maybe we should be together after all." She said shyly.

"Ew no." He said. She looked at him. "Okay, okay I'm sorry. Yes I think that's probably a good idea seeing as I love you and I've heard through the grapevine that you're rather fond of me too." He said. Hermione smiled and hugged him tight.

"I never knew you were so good with children either, Fred. It actually weirdly makes me slightly more attracted to you, is that weird?" She said.

"Woah Granger, take me on a date first." He laughed.

"No, no that's not what I'm saying, it's just...sweet." She said, turning red.

"I know. Just relax, Granger. I was thinking the same thing and I don't know, I'm open to the idea of maybe having a Jackson or two with you one day. Only if you give me your...what was it he said? Best please."

Hermione laughed.

"Seriously though, it makes me feel all sort of...I don't know, warm seeing you with him." He said. "He's such a great kid. He's asked me to hang out with him again but told me not to tell you incase you feel left out." Fred laughed.

"Oh well now I do feel left out." She laughed, "but as your girlfriend I can forgive you."

Fred chuckled. "Anyway what did I tell Jackson earlier?"

"That we were going to do lots and lots of this." She whispered before bringing her lips to his.

Stacey and Derek returned a few hours afterwards.
