"Where is she?" Yelled Fred when he apparated into shell cottage.

"She's trying to sleep." Said Harry.

"I want to see her!" Said Fred.

"Fred, mate. Just calm down." Said Ron.

"What's wrong?" Fred asked. "Something's wrong." He said.

"She...she won't talk to anybody, she just sort of...lies there." Said Harry.

"I'm her boyfriend, can someone please tell me what happened?" Fred said, angrily. It had been months since he'd seen her.

"Okay just don't act angry around her, she just needs support. Don't even ask her about it." Said Ron.

"Okay." Said Fred.

"We were at the Malfoys' and Hermione got hurt...really hurt and..." trailed off Harry.

"How hurt, who hurt her?" Asked Fred, his eyes darkening.

"That Bellatrix woman." Harry said with a flash of anger in his eyes.

"I can't stop hearing her screams. It was chilling." Shuddered Ron.

"She used the cruciatus curse on her and did something to her arm. She won't show us, she won't even talk." Said Harry.

"I swear, if I ever see that woman, I'll..." started Fred.

"She's traumatised and fragile so please be careful with her. Don't mention it, just be there for her, okay?" Said Harry.

"She needs you more than ever." Said Ron.

Fred nodded.

"She's upstairs." Said Harry.

"Should I wake her?" Asked Fred.

"She won't be sleeping." Sighed Ron. "Just..she's not in a good state. Be careful."

"I will be." Said Fred. He was boiling over with anger, but he had to keep it together for her sake.

He climbed up the stairs and pushed open the door. Hermione was curled up on the bed with her eyes open.

"Hey, Granger." He said, softly. What terrified Fred the most about Hermione wasn't the fact she was lying there silent, or the sad expression on her face. It was the fact she looked dead. She was barely blinking, barely moving and almost like she'd just stopped altogether.

Hermione didn't even respond or acknowledge Fred was there.

Fred sighed and got in the bed beside her. He kissed her gently on her head incase she was still hurting.

"Fred?" She said, turning over to look at him.

"Hey there." He said.

"You're here." She said, touching his chest as if to check he was real.

"Always will be." He smiled.

"Fred..." she said, looking up at him through her eyelashes.

"Yes, sweetheart?" He said.

"Go away." She said, quietly.

"What?"

"Get out." She said, sitting up.

"Hermione, I don't understa..."

"Now, Fred!" She yelled.

Fred climbed off the bed and stumbled to his feet. Hermione pointed to the door and Fred walked towards it.

"Hermione, I'll get out if that's what you want me to do." He said. "But I don't think that's what you truly want."

"Just go away!" She shouted, she ran up to him. "Leave me alone!"
