Chapter 13 - Confession

Okay. Today, as soon as Fushiguro comes out of the infirmary, I will lead him to the cherry blossom trees! I just hope he does it, I'll wait 3 hours!! No, I'll wait for a whole 6 hours!

FUSHIGURO POV

As soon as Ieiri sensei lets me out, I walk toward my dorm to lay down for a while. I'm still feeling tired, so I want to rest a while. Then in front of my dorm's door, I see a sign in front of it.

'FUSHIGURO!! IF YOU ARE READING THIS TRY AND FIND ME!

STEP ONE- TURN AROUND.'

This is so childish. But I do it anyway. I can tell It's itadori, after all. I turn around. And suddenly all my tiredness is gone.

'NICE! YOURE FOLLOWING IT! NOW, STEP TWO- LOOK OUT THE WINDOW!'

I look out of the window the note was pointing to. I see yet another note that gives me instructions.

This goes on for a while, and I honestly find it a bit fun. I wonder where itadori is, and why he's doing this. Is it because I just got out of the infirmary and he wants to hang out or something? I walk around the school's premises following the notes, and it eventually leads to a spot where I can see pink basically everywhere. There are cherry blossom trees all around, and in the middle I can see itadori, who's not noticed me yet, fumbling with his clothes. He has some formal clothes on, he looks like he's going to a party. He looks nervous, and once he spots me he gives me a wave.

"So, you really did come!" Itadori smiles, looking extra happy today.

"I didn't want to leave you hanging." I try to act as casual as possible. Why is my heart beating so loudly?

"Listen, Fushiguro. There's a reason I called you here a very important reason."

He seems suddenly so serious, with a hint of embarrassment. He looks like he doesn't want the meet my eyes, but he holds the eye contact. Why did he call me to this spot?

KUGISAKI POV

I try not to make any noise as me and the second years hide behind a bush, looking at my two hopeless friends. Itadori finally found the courage to confess, and Fushiguro already did technically make the first move. But Itadori insisted he wanted to say it to his face. We are far away, but not so far so that we can hear them.

"I wonder how he'll say I love you." Maki whispers into my ear. I nod back at her, telling her I agree. Hopefully itadori doesn't mess this up.

"I called you here," He starts to say, and my back straightens, ready for the confession. "Because I wanted to tell you amazing you are." I look at the other second years, and they all have curious faces. I didn't know he would do a long run.

"Listen, you might've had a hard past, and you might still be struggling now, but I wanted to say i would be there for you, no matter what. You have put your trust in me since day one, and I will gladly return that. I've always known you were a fantastic person, and I see so many more sides of you these days. You have always had a spot in my heart, but yours is the biggest compared to everyone's. I haven't realised it until some time ago, and I'm sorry I didn't understand your confession. But this time, I want you to know how much I love you. I love you so much that I would die for you. You've always risked your life for me, and I shall do the same. I love you so much, you are the best person I could ever ask for."

There is silence in the air for a while. That was very deep, it brought tears to my eyes. That was 100/10, itadori. I should've confessed to Maki in a more romantic way. Inumaki San said something, which I think meant 'good job'. Now all attention is focused on Fushiguro, who has yet to answer. I can't read him, since he doesn't have any expressions on his face.

He then opens his mouth, and we all tense up once again. He's already confessed, so he would surely say he likes him back, right?

"I only confessed to you because I thought I could move on." Fushiguro sighs out, and itadori's smile drop, just a little bit. "But.."

"But?" Itadori looks at Fushiguro with a shine in his eyes, desperate for an answer. He has only to hope, I guess.

"But, I couldn't move on from you. For me, you are the person that you meet once in a lifetime. You are the 'true love'. " ahhhhhhh, they both confessed so beautifully, I'm basically crying. They're honestly so wholesome, and oblivious, and I'm glad they worked out. Itadori's face glows up like he just discovered a whole new world.

"So, will you be my boyfriend?" itadori asks, handing Fushiguro a bouquet of roses. Fushiguro takes it with a gentle laugh, thanking him.

"Of course. Why not?" Fushiguro gives itadori a type of smile I have never seen him do. He lets his guard down whenever hes alone with itadori, which is cute in a way.

"Can I.. kiss you?" Itadori blushes after the sentence. Fushiguro's eyes widen a bit, but gives itadori another smile. Damn, why can't he smile at me like that? Back to the topic-

"Yeah, of course." Fushiguro takes a step towards itadori, and itadori hugs his waist, slowly bringing his head towards Fushiguro's.

ITADORI POV

I don't know where I gained this confidence, but I slowly reach towards Fushiguro's lips, my eyes not leaving Fushiguro's. We slowly close the gap, and our lips meet. This feels 10x better than the kiss in the manga shop, half because Fushiguro was asleep and half because I rushed it. This kiss is gentle and heavenly, his soft lips dancing with mine.

The kiss lasts for about 10 seconds, and we slowly retreat back and smile at each other. I proceed to touch his forehead with mine, and I let out a laugh.

"You're so pretty, Fushiguro." I whisper in his ears.

"You're pretty too." He replies almost immediately. I smile, and I look at his eyes one more time.

"I love you." We both say simultaneously.

Kugisaki suddenly jumps out of a random bush. The other second years follow suit, and the new couple both jumps.

"FUCKING FINALLY!" Kugisaki cheers and the other second years smile along. Fushiguro suddenly becomes a bit mad that they ruined the moment, but he still smiles.

"Well, at least they know now." Fushiguro looks at me and I nod back.

All's well that ends well!
