Chapter 3

When i enter the room, the first thing i see are the pastel violet walls with drawings of fields and flower baskets on it. I hope that it's just the basic room decoration for every dorm in college until my eyes catch sight of a girl and i sigh annoyed, but silent so nobody can hear me.

What can i say? This girl, Lilian Rivers, is the living definition of a soft- and cottagecore girl. With her large, wavy, blonde hair in which she put a flower clip and her hazel eyes, a white dress with sunflowers on it and the elegant white sandals she lools exactly like a pinterest girl, the typical flower girl.

She decorated her bed with rosé flower pattern sheets, pink and purple pillows and a large plant with fairy lights around the narrow columns every bed has.

That was my aesthetic and my style and the type of girl I once was and i actually wanted to avoid this type of people because she might be pretty but I can tell she's a shy wallflower who surely can't even think about boys without feeling uncomfortable.

I have to admit that I'm disappointed, i really thought i could have a roommate like Thea who could teach me how to dress, flirt and party.

>> You didn't even talk to her yet Madeleine, stop being so judgy, << a voice in my head says and I force myself to smile as I say:
>> Hey, i'm Madeleine and you must be Lilian. Nice to meet you. <<
Lilian smiles at me friendly and answers
>> Hey Madeleine, as i can see you already know my name << she smiles even more,
>> It's nice to meet you too, i hope we're going to be great roommates! <<
I nod and roll my suitcase into the dorm.

>> Your bed is right there, next to the window, i hope thats okay for you but sleeping on the left makes me nervous, << Lilian says with a shy smile.
>> That's no problem, i don't care where i sleep<< I answer putting my bags on the freshly made bed with the flower sheets and pillows. Ugh i have to change them soon.

>> So Maddy, << Thea says, >> I'm going to my dorm now, see you at lunch in the great hall! << She winks and grins and walks away.

Now I'm alone, despite my dad waiting in front of the room and looking around.
>> This room looks cleaner than yours even did Line. Maybe you should ask your roommate what's her secret << He says, laughing. I blush and give him an angry look, and I hear Lilian giggling too.

>> So, I think it's time to go now since I don't have anything to do here anymore. I'm sure you will have a nice time here, make many new friends and live your best life << he winks,
>> You know you can always call us if you need something but I doubt you will need us that often, enjoy your time! <<

He smiles and gives me a kiss on my cheek. I watch him leaving until I don't see him anymore, then I turn around and start opening my bags.

>> You can use the left side of the wardrobe over there. It's enough space for all of your clothes, trust me, even my dresses fit in, << Lilian says, laughing.
>> I don't have many clothes anyway, << I answer, >> I definitely have to go shopping, can you recommend some places? <<

Lilian nods and says:
>> You should go to the Spring mall, it's only
4 miles with the bus from here and there you fin everything! I also have to go there soon, they got some amazing clothing stores! <<

She sounds really exited. We talk a little more about our lives and she tells me that she doesn't have any siblings but she always wanted an older brother to protect her. I tell her that i have one and she says that I can be so happy about that but I explain that he's really annoying sometimes and he can also be such a jerk when he's with his friends.

>> Your dad seems so nice! << Lilian suddenly says.
>> He is << I answer, >> but sometimes he cares too much, i'm not a baby anymore, i can make my own decisions. <<
>> I wish my dad would treat me like that, << she says, sighing. For a moment she looks sad, but then she's smiling again.

>> So, i guess it's time to put all your things out of your bag! We have a bathroom in here as well! << She says, pointing her finger at an inconspicuous door which i didn't notice until this point.
>> Wow really? That's so cool, i didn't even have an own bathroom in my house! << I say excitedly.

For the next minutes we put my clothes in my closet, my other stuff like laptop, a few books, family pictures and my favorite purple golden headphones into my shelf and my skincare, shower stuff and makeup into our small but elegant and clean bathroom while we were talking about our schools and lifes earlier. I have to admit that Lilian is less boring than i expected and I even enjoyed our conversation.

I also slowly begin to really like this college. It looks like an old money movie, has an amazing architecture and my dorm has an own bathroom and is - despite the color and decoration - really cozy, big and pretty and the bed is so soft as if you would lay on clouds.

As I was thinking, Lilians voice brings me back to reality.
>> It's time for dinner in 10 minutes, we can go there together so I can show you, don't worry our dinner is always delicious! <<

I nod, smiling, as i answer: >> I'd love to! <<
