Eleanor leaves the room, and Adaline watches her close the door.
Adaline sighs, and lays down on her bed, exhausted.
Her head gets filled with thousands of thoughts, enough to overwhelm most, but she was used to them.
about 15 minutes pass, and she falls asleep. Everything is just, black.
Adaline wakes up, and immediately buries her head into her pillow.
"New day, new life.. everything is okay." She looks out the window in her room, looking down at the garden.
She thinks to herself "Okay Adaline, let's start with that. Get up and go in the backyard, it's all gonna be fine."
Adaline hesitates, her bed feels safe, unlike the rest of this house.
She finally sits up and gets dressed. Adaline goes down stairs, no one seems to be up. The clock on the wall says it's 7:21.
Adaline opens the back door, and goes to the garden. Theres a beautiful fountain and an old swing, all surrounded by colorful flowers.
Adaline sits on the fountain, thinking to herself. "Why would John doe decide to adopt me instead of the other kids?" She said to herself.
"Because you look like her." Says a boy behind her.
Adaline's eyes widen, and she looks back, and sees Jack, her new brother, on the swing.
"How long have you been there?" Adaline asks.
Jack replies "I was out here before you, doofus." Jack gets off the swing, and sits next to Adaline.
Adaline looks at the empty swing. She didn't see jack when she came out here, so how was he here before her?
Adaline asks "Who are you talking about?
"Hm?" Jack asks and Adaline says
"Who is she? The person you said I look like?"
Jack replies "Oh, I'm talking about my mom!"
"Eleanor!? I look NOTHING like her!" Adaline says, a bit surprised.
Jack says "Eleanor is my step mom, I'm talking about my REAL mom."
Jack says.
Adaline gasps "The woman who went missing 5 years ago!? I'm so sorry!"
"No no, it's fine!" Jack quickly replies "I'm just saying that's most likely the reason my father adopted you."
Adaline thinks to herself after hearing Jack say that.
"So, that's what she looked like? Me?"
No one has ever seen the face of John's ex-wife, or even heard her name.
"Well, a little different." Says Jack.
Adaline asks "What did she look like?"
Jack smiles "you'll have to find out yourself."
Jack gets up, and walks to the back door, and opens it
"Oh! Forgot to mention!" Jack looks at Adaline and, and says "Welcome home, Ada!"
