I haven't talked or texted Summer during my four-day stay at the fire station. I'm still mad that she wants a surrogate, a surrogate, to carry our child. I think we needed space from each other before we got further into the conversation.
But since I came home from work, she was telling me how sorry she was. She knows that I'm still mad at her.
Tonight, we are going to her parents for dinner. Hopefully, we leave early because Greg and I are running through the trails.
Getting out of the shower and drying myself with the towel and then wrapping it around my waist. I walked towards the dresser and dropped my towel on the floor. Pulling out blue boxers, black jean shorts, and a white button-up shirt.
"Are you done yet, Corey?" Summer was yelling from the bottom of the stairs.
"No..... I'll be down in a minute," I yelled back.
"Okay. I'll be waiting in the truck, and I have truck keys and the house keys." Once she said, I heard the door open and close.
I sprayed some cologne on my chest and quickly brushed my teeth. I rush out of the bathroom, making sure I have my wallet with me that was sitting by my night table. I grab my wallet and walk down the stairs and out of the house.
I could see that Summer was singing to something in my truck because I could see her lips moving.
As I got closer, I could hear singing Shake it Off by Taylor Swift. She even kept singing when I open the truck door. I know a guy like me won't like pop or country music, but I enjoy listening to Taylor Swift. I don't mind at all.
Summer was singing every song that was on the radio to her parent's house. Sometimes I could handle her singing, but not right now. I just want to listen to the radio, not her singing the whole thing. Sometimes it's hard to tell her to stop singing even though she has a wonderful voice. I just can't right now.
Thank God we're here at her parent's house. I quickly park behind her parent's vehicle and shut off the truck.
"You ready, babe?" Summer asks me.
"Yes, let's go." I nodded at her.
We both got out of the truck and walked towards the front door. She knocked twice before opening it.
"Hello, we are here." Summer raised her voice to see if anybody heard her.
"Summer, we are on the back patio." Her mom answered her back. We both removed our footwear from the front door.
It smells delicious in the house as we got closer to the kitchen and the smell was getting stronger when we got to the back patio. Barbecue hamburgers, hotdogs, macaroni salad, and baby ribs are my favorite, that was in the middle of the table.
"How's it going Summer and Corey?" Susan, Summer's mother, asks us.
"I'm doing good mom and where's dad and Rachel?"
"Well, your dad went to go wash his hands and your sister will be here in about twenty minutes," Susan said.
"Oh okay."
"How are you Corey any more training?" Susan asked.
"I'm doing good and I'm not sure about the training as of yet," I said to Susan.
