Danica's POV

I felt something around my wrist, I opened my eyes slowly, still feeling dizzy. I was tied in a room but the only thing that shocked me, the room was a beautiful one, not expected at all, at least it doesn't smell like trash. Going out without permission was the stupidest idea I've ever had. Damn it! The bracelet's also gone. What should I fucking do!? Think Danica, think. Until I was cut off my thoughts by a voice coming through the door. I pretended to asleep again and stayed still. The door opened and my heart started to pump fast.

"She's still asleep, do not disturb her or hurt her. If one of you does, I'll make sure you regret the day you were born" a woman says in an intimidating way, and it's familiar. Her words made my mind flood with questions and thoughts. But I can't seem to know who she is. I stayed still. Until I felt her hand stroking my hair to the back of my ear.

"I know your awake" she says sternly and so I opened my eyes. No point of pretending anymore. But also shocked to see who was the woman.

"Vittoria ferrer" I said in a annoyed tone, as I furrowed my eyes at her.

"I guess Lorenzo told you about me" she chuckled, but I only responded with a scoff.

"What do you want from me?" I asked trying to loosen the rope tied in my wrist.

"There's no point of trying, you can't take it off." She says, referring to the rope. I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"You know, it's very obvious that Lorenzo loves you" she says in genuinely. I looked at her, raising an eyebrow. The hell is with this woman?

"He doesn't, were only friends. How would you even know?" I asked in curiousity and she chuckled.

"I know love when I see one. I've been in love before twice, for my husband and especially for my only daughter, Valerie." She says in a low tone. I looked down, remembering about what Lorenzo said, about how Valerie died. It was a tragedy.

"Why are you doing this?" I mumbled. Vittoria hummed in response, wanting me to repeat what I had said as shr seemed to be spaced out when i said that.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked again but in a high tone. She sighed and cleared her throat.

"Look, I'm not a bad person like my father. I'm different. After having my daughter I have changed ways, but when she died something in me changef. Even before, my family and Lorenzo's were friends, something just happened and we became enemies." Vittoria let out a tear and it made me feel sad. She lost her only daughter and her husband. Even I didn't get a chance to meet my real parents.

"Then why are you helping him?" I questioned and she looked at me once again. She wiped her tears and took a deep breaths.

"Aside from him being my father which I don't care is for my daughter, they killed her and they must pay for it" she says through gritted teeth, clenching her fists.

"They didn't do it" I stated. She scoffed and the room was filled with silence later on she spoke.

"You believe them? We are Mafias Danica, our job is all about killing and ranking." She started to defend herself. Now, that I think of it. It's true, Mafias are all about killing, there murderers and merciless. But Lorenzo? There best friends, why would he even do that. I highly doubt it.

"Be on our side, we can be more powerful and I can help you find your parents." She says as she held my hand. I froze to what she said. My parents? I was left speechless. I didn't know what to say.

"I did some background check on you, I know your from an orphanage, left by your parents. But you didn't get the chance to meet them, I also realised you're good at guns and fighting. I can help you danica. All I need is your help." She tried persuading me, but I still didn't agree. No matter what she says I will not agree. I won't betray Lorenzo and the guys.
