So I forgot to review the last three episodes that dropped. Shame too cause I'm having a lot of fun with the season.
I'll be quick and get out my thoughts at a more appropriate them.
I love Hotaro/Rinne and Renge/Sabimaru teaming up to catch the Chemy, not only does it bring out his creativity, their dynamic also ends up, showing off the characterization arguing over who deserves the credit.
L girl whose name I'll be able to redefine once I remember how to spell properly dressing up as a nun to recruit a new follower is pretty interesting. I just didn't find the new victim of the week all that compelling. At the same time, it is interesting that using a communion to confess their sins was the impetus she's using as another deal with the devil. If this is another take on how Japanese citizens end up in cults at times, I really appreciate how they are willing to show that anyone can be corrupted into evil.
I remember in the character bios, it had said that Hotaro was more physically inclined then academically, and while I do like in a similar vein to Gentaro, he isn't necessarily stupid. He's just not that good education wise, and it was nice to actually see that through the kid. The education system is getting a lot harder because people want the next generation succeed, which is a good thing.
But having them sacrifice the things that they enjoy in life to do so, is also detriment enough people don't talk about, and it's important to find that middle ground. I plan to re-watching the episode to remember the kid's name, but it is interesting to have a Human Bond's with a creature that's not born malevolent, but still choose to give it up anyway.
And that's on the full display with the monster. Not only does the force of protagonist physical abilities on display, turning him into a sniper targeting the superhero trying to protect the kid, really broke the scare factor with this one. And I need to rewatch the episode again, but I don't remember why this adult in particular was targeting the kid, what a nightmare fuel of some adult going up to a kid to kill them for any reason is disturbing regardless of the content.
The fact that he needs to contact both Spanner and Sabimaru is dire in it of itself, but I do like the comedy in which our AI user is so bad at communicating directly tons of detriment when he needs it to charge.
Rinne having a meltdown thanks to her strict up, bringing as an alchemist messing up her ability to just even order food because she's so overwhelmed was cute and counters the arguments that she's just some bland stoic face.
I also like that she doesn't want Renge to abuse Hotaro's mom (and future mother-in-law, sorry) given that we know that they had a talk between episode four and five. Really shows how much she values her new friend.
And Apothros planning on talking to her, and considering her an old friend.... That part got me curious from last weeks preview but I really wanna see how it plays out next week to get a verdict. Our deutragonist and the weakest of the three protagonists coming in contact with the main villain alone after their conversation in episode four had Rinne on their emotional back burner . That doesn't usually happen outright in the beginning, even in Fourze.
Also, mad props for Minato for believing in his students. More support teachers for the win.
