Chapter 34

Jamaica's POV

The clash of elements against darkness echoed in my ears as I tried to catch my breath. Kevin and Nel stood beside me, their expressions etched with determination despite the chaos around us. But deep inside, I felt something stirring—a faint, familiar hum that resonated in my chest.

I didn't understand it at first. It was like a melody I'd forgotten but somehow still knew, pulling me closer to its source. The Destroyer stood a few paces away, shrouded in shadow, his laughter slicing through the tension.

"Do you feel it?" he sneered, gaze locking onto mine. "The call of something greater than yourself?"

Before I could answer, the hum grew louder, and the words erupted from me like a flood breaking through a dam.

"Amrath diah luthar! Kraneth varo sihn!" (Glory to the light! Power to the soul!)

The air stilled as the ancient language rolled off my tongue, the Power behind the words shaking the ground beneath us. Kevin and Nel froze, their eyes wide in disbelief.

"Jamaica," Kevin whispered, his voice trembling. "Where did you... how do you know that language?"

"I don't know!" I shouted back, clutching my chest as the strange energy surged. The words kept spilling out, each syllable igniting the air around us.

The Destroyer's smile faltered, his shadowy form shifting uneasily. "No..." he muttered, taking a step back. "You shouldn't know that tongue. It's forbidden!"

Forbidden or not, I couldn't stop. The language flowed through me like it had always been dormant until now. Each word seemed to tear at the shadows surrounding the Destroyer, unraveling his Power.

"Velroth mai nhara!" (Eternal hope for the future!) I cried, the final phrase echoing like a thunderclap. A burst of light exploded from within me, slamming into the Destroyer and throwing him across the battlefield.

The shadows recoiled, screeching as they dissolved into the ground. For a moment, everything was still.

Nel was the first to speak, his voice low and cautious. "That was the Language of Creation," he said, his eyes never leaving me. "Only the Celestial Mother and her chosen have ever spoken it."

I shook my head, trembling. "I didn't even know what I was saying. It just... happened."

Kevin stepped closer, his face pale but determined. "If you can speak the Language of Creation, you're connected to something bigger than us."

The Destroyer rose from the rubble, his movements sluggish but his eyes burning with fury. "You think a few ancient words can stop me?" he growled. "You've only scratched the surface of what you're capable of, guardian. But I will end you before you discover the rest."

He raised his hand, dark energy swirling around him, but I stood my ground. I didn't feel fear. The hum in my chest returned, steady and strong, and I knew—whatever this Power was, it wasn't just mine.

It was ours.

Kevin and Nel stepped forward, their weapons glowing brighter than before. Without a word, we moved as one, our powers combining in a single, unified strike.

The Destroyer roared, the force of our attack engulfing him in a blinding light. When it faded, he was gone, leaving only the faint echoes of his rage behind.

I lowered my bow, my hands still shaking. "Did we...?"

Kevin nodded, his expression a mix of relief and disbelief. "For now. But this isn't over."
