Hey Readers! I'm so glad that you have chosen to read my story! It's still in progress, and I hope that it is a great success as it is my first story shown to the public. If this goes well, I might release other stories as well! Thank you again for reading! -Jayo_3
The alarm from my phone rang through my room, some song by Harry Styles blaring into my ear. I groaned and rolled over in my head to grab a pillow. I lifted it onto my ear and closed my eyes, trying to fall back asleep. My older sister ran in, squealing her head off, "First day of highschool!"
I sat up and found her identical pair of eyes, "Do you really have to be this loud? I was planning on getting a few more minutes of sleep."
She walked across the room and tapped a button. Harry's voice faded from my ears, which settled my nerves a little bit. "Come on, Jezelle! You only get to be in high school for three years! These years will be some of the best of your entire life!" she started to hop around and then she ran out with her hands in the air.
"Jennifer, don't come back in unless you have a cup of coffee for me." I yelled at her. The music started to blast from her room, immediately making me regret setting an alarm in general. If I had just waited for the music, I could've avoided her even walking in.
I got out of my covers and sat on the edge of my bed. The light from outside dimly lit the room, giving the first day of school vibes. I got off my bed and walked over to my closet to pick an outfit. I picked a nice black tank top and grabbed my specialized jock jacket. My father bought it for me after my mom died. It covered up all the things I did to myself, so I wore it everyday unless I had a long sleeve shirt on.
For the few seconds I transferred my sleep shirt and my new tank top on I could see the marks across my chest and arms. I rushed to put the tank top on and slid the jacket over my shoulders. Once the pants were on I sat at my desk and stared at my face. It looked very dead. I tried a few different smiles on, just to use on occasion at school. I could just tell that Jennifer was going to push me around to try and have me make new friends.
I grabbed my brush and untangled my hair. Although it made it more frizzy, I preferred to look more civilized. I reached over to grab my backpack and my sneakers with stars on them. Once I was all put together I walked out of my room.
I gave a loud knock on Jennifer's door to let her know that I was ready. I kept on my path to walk downstairs and to the kitchen. Dad was already cooking up some pancakes for us to eat. "Good morning, Jezzy!" he said to me.
"Hi, Dad..." I mumbled under my breath. I set my backpack down and took a seat at the counter. "What're you making for breakfast?" I eyed the pancakes.
He shrugged, "I decided to make a variety. Better to have more than one thing on your first day of school! I made your favorite, french toast!" I smiled. I hated eating pancakes. "I also made some pancakes for Jennifer. There's also bacon and eggs. Eat as much as you'd like.""Thank you," I said to him as I grabbed a plate. I got one piece of french toast and some bacon. "This looks amazing."
He gave me a smile, "That's what I do!"
I ate a few bites of the french toast and fell in love with it as I always do. I continued to eat more and more until it was just the bacon left. I started to munch on it as Jennifer came down.
Her back to school outfit was much more different than mine was. Her shorter black hair was curled and pushed back behind her ears. She clearly thought through her outfit. Its blue sheen matched the color of her eyes incredibly well and a white skirt sat on her hips. She topped this stylish outfit off with white heels and a gray necklace. In comparison to my outfit, you would never even tell we were related. Except we are identical twins so they would connect the thoughts after a few seconds. "Rate the fit."
