I had never felt so alone when Jezelle was unconscious. She was a crucial part of my life and without her felt like losing a part of my soul.

When she passed out at the dance, it felt as if the light went out in her. Trevor and Tyson knew exactly what to do. Trevor picked her up in his arms and Tyson started yelling at people to clear a path for Trevor to get through. They were a dynamic duo in pressure situations, which I found very ideal for the circumstances. We got her in the car and my dad and I started driving her at high speed to the hospital.

Some people might have thought it was an overreaction. Jezelle passed out and she was dying? Highly unlikely. It was just her medical history in her family that made me think there could be more.

Dad and I got her to the emergency room and one of the doctors immediately recognized her. He pulled her into a room and got her set up. I sat outside for an hour, watching doctors go in and out with different items and leaving with new notes. I didn't want to know what they were doing to her. My dad had to leave to help clean up the dance, so he left at about 10:30.

I sat outside and some of the doctors gave me updates on her status. It was painful every report they gave me. At about 12 AM Jennifer finally came in with her dad and a sleeping Jackson in his arms. They saw I was there and crumpled into pieces. Jennifer sobbed into my shoulder, which made me want to change out of my gorgeous dress and back into my painting clothes, just something better than this.

Jennifer stayed with me when Mr. Kent took Jackson back home. He said he'd come tomorrow morning. Jennifer laid on my shoulder asleep and it made me think that it was Jezelle laying on me. It even got the doctors a bit. They asked if she had woken up, and I had to say no.

I didn't sleep at all. I went to the cafeteria and made myself a cup of coffee. It felt weird drinking it. I had only ever wanted to drink it because Jezelle wanted it, but now I was here without her drinking it because of her. Very emotional cup of coffee.

Trevor and Tyson called every hour, making sure they got the updates. Neither of them had come yet, they had plans with their families they couldn't get out of. They wanted to be in the hospital with me so bad, but they just had too many things planned.

My dad went to get our family and Jezelle's some food when we got the news that she wasn't predicted to wake up. They all had mixed reactions. Her dad broke down, falling to his knees at the side of her bed. His wails filled the hospital halls with a certain gloom. Jackson stood next to his father, rubbing his back. I was certain he had no idea what was happening, but he clearly read the sad tones. Jennifer stood at the foot of her bed, staring at her twin. If I had a twin and I knew she was going to die, I would be a mess.

I think my reaction was the most heartwarming.

Mr. Kent was still on the ground when I walked up towards him. I knelt down to his side and took a deep breath. He deserved to know. I knew Jezelle hadn't told him because I was still figuring out everything. I didn't even tell her that I finally figured out what I think I am. She would have wanted me to tell him for her, so I took a deep breath and eased him in.

"Mr. Kent," I sighed, "I need to tell you something."

He looked at me, tears streaming down his face, "Yes, Felie?"

I looked towards Jennifer, and she just gave me a reassuring nod. A small thumbs up was all the confidence I needed. "You know that Jezelle likes girls?" After saying it I regretted using the incorrect version of the word.
"Yes?"

I smiled, "She likes-" I took a breath, "She liked me."

He grabbed my hand as if I was one of his children, "Are you two...?" I just gave him a nod which spoke more than a thousand words. He pulled me into a tight hug, telling me how grateful he was for a light in the darkness. I felt so grateful to be there for him. Jennifer and Jackson came over and pulled into the hug. Jackson kept saying how he already knew, so Jennifer told him to be quiet.
