I explained it all to my family.

'Aliens?' Mum asked in a voice filled with fear and disbelief.

'Yes, Mother, I saw them with my own eyes'. The man who came earlier must be a civilian under their control. Or how did he get such a strange weapon?'

At first, they were shocked too, but with what we had just witnessed, they had to believe it.

'We should call the police'  Dad said, frowning in anger. He picked up the phone and dialled the number.  All of a sudden, we heard an ear-splitting humming through the phone, forcing us to disconnect.

'Dad, I'm scared'. It must be their doing.

'Don't worry, sweetheart; I'll go to the police station now.' He said comforting me.

'It's almost 11; don't go out alone now.' Mother spoke in a concerned voice.

'I can go with him'

I was certain that my father would go to the police station. I can't let him leave by himself. What if something bad happens to him? 'I'll stay in the car,' I stated firmly before Mom and Dad could say anything further.

They tried everything to convince me to stay, but I refused. They know how obstinate I can be when I set my mind to something.

--------

We got into the car. Be careful,' my mother said.

I looked out the window all the time. There was no sign of anyone. Our town was quite small and isolated. After 10 or 11 at night, almost no one is out. Everyone will be at home. I consoled myself. I was gripped by fear of what would happen next.

I looked back and saw a black SUV behind us. But I did not inform my father. I just stared at it, terrified. After a while, the SUV disappeared into the darkness of the night.I had a glimmer of hope as we drove to the police station.

We reached the station

'Don't get out of the car,' Dad said sternly. 'I won't' I said like a good girl.

20 minutes have passed. I was sitting in our car. In the terrible face of darkness, in the silence, my mind began to paint strange pictures far away. When I couldn't take it any longer, I got out and walked slowly towards the entrance door.

I saw my father standing in despair. He seemed nervous and hopeless. When I looked to the other side, I noticed a police officer standing there, pointing a strange and deadly gun at my father. My face was dropped with dread.

What should I do? How am I going to save my father? I stood there not knowing what to do.

While I was zoned out, someone grabbed my hand and dragged me outside.
