We will leave

"I told you not to get outside," Dad shouted, his cheeks red with anger.

"Dad..." He dragged me to the car, put me inside, and closed the door before I could ask any questions. Then he got into his car and started driving.

For a moment, there was complete stillness in the car. Then all of the things that I witnessed there flashed back to me.

"What did they say, Dad?"

"Why were they pointing the weapon at you?"

"We have lost all hope dear. It's too late now. Everyone in the station is under their control. Thank goodness they didn't kill me."  Father replied, wiping away tears to keep them from dropping. My eyes began to water without me realising it. But did not cry out. I didn't want my dad to see that.

After a few minutes, I said, "Let's leave this town."

"No... We can't. They warned us not to leave this town"

"We have to, Dad. If we don't, they're going to control us as well. There is no point living like that."

After some discussion, we decided to leave.

--------------------------------------------

We knew we had to get out of town as soon as possible. Me and Dad explained everything to Mother and Grandmother.

"What are you saying? And the police..? Mom asked on the verge of tears."

"Yes, Mom. We have no choice but to leave here."

Dad sat down next to Mum, held her close and said comfortingly, "I know, Bella, it's hard to believe everything that has happened. But we can survive this. We need to get out of here. If we leave this town, we can get help. But if we stay here, I am sure they will come for us tomorrow.

Mom sat in despair for a while. Then she said looking into his eyes, "OK, let's go"

I sighed in relief.

Quickly opened the front door and looked outside to see if anyone was watching us. No one was there. But if they had mind-controlled everyone in the town, they would know if we tried to leave.

But then I remembered our neighbour. I had a quick look outside at our neighbour's house, but there was no sign of them.

Me, Mum, Dad and Grandma started to pack our bags quickly. When I turned around, I saw my grandmother trying to pack her make-up."Why are you taking your make-up, you know we might all die soon." I asked in disbelief.

The next thing I heard was the bell ringing.
