Advik rubbed his face, sitting on the bed, and put on his watch before donning a dark brown coat.
"Advik," Yashvi began, but he interrupted her.
"Not right now, Yashvi. It's not like I don't want to spend time with my family. I'm desperate to spend time with you, take you on a honeymoon, but I'm extremely busy these days. I had to postpone a meeting yesterday, which was extremely important and under my jurisdiction," he explained, his frustration evident.
Yashvi tiptoed and pecked him on the lips, silencing him. "Shh. You're talking too much. I was just saying that you look extremely handsome, husband," she said, throwing her arms around his neck. He smiled and drew her closer, resting his forehead against hers.
"Adya must have cried, didn't she?" He asked with guilt in his voice, making her sigh. She ran her nails gently on his nape, which made him gulp.
"I don't know. If you knew she would cry, why scold her? She said it because my face fell when I heard you wouldn't come with us. I wanted you to come too," she admitted with a tight smile. He gave her an apologetic look before pulling her into a hug.
"I'll try to come if my work gets completed, but I can't promise," he said, running his hand on her back, to which she nodded.
Pulling out of the hug, he took his wallet and handed her an Amex black card between the scissors of his first two fingers. She immediately refused, but he held her wrist, pulling her closer.
"I know you don't need it, but I know my siblings. They might need it, so I'm giving it to you," he said. Reluctantly, she took the card from him.
"Don't you dare pay for your things separately, Yashvi. I earn money for both of us. You promised that it won't ever come between us. I don't hesitate to ask you for cash when I need it, so I won't like my wife hesitating to spend money either. If my siblings can do it, why can't my wife. Okay?" He cupped her cheeks, making her nod. She had no control over it; her self-respect wouldn't allow her to spend his money on herself.
"Yashvi, you're my wife. I'm supposed to share my life with you, and you even hesitate to spend the money I earn. How will it work throughout our life? We can't go with 'it's my money, it's your money'; it's ours," he gently explained, and she nodded with a faint smile.
"I'll leave now. The driver must be waiting. Okay?" he said. She nodded, and he pecked her forehead before grabbing his laptop bag and heading outside. Yashvi looked at the card in her hand and went to her closet, pulling out her handbag. She opened it, placed the card holder safely inside, and sighed.

"Bhabhi, can I come inside?" Adya asked, peering through the slightly ajar door. The room was so spacious that keeping it closed sometimes unnerved Yashvi; hence, if she was alone, she typically kept it open, especially as the siblings' rooms were clustered together.
Yashvi nodded, placing her laptop aside, and Adya hopped in with a large packet of chips in her hand and two cans of coke. Though an intern at the hospital, she never failed to indulge in her favorite junk food.
"What are you doing?" Adya asked, handing her a can, and sat on the bed, legs crossed, with the chips in the center.
"Just some research," Yashvi said, taking a chip and savoring it.
"What will you wear? You know Aashi dii, Srishti, and Archit will be coming too. Adarsh Bhai had called them," Adya said, offering a chip and taking a sip. Yashvi had met them and thankfully they were sweet, genuine and loving.
"This saree looks fine, doesn't it?" Yashvi asked, looking at herself and stood up, placing her can aside, and examining herself in the mirror.
"Geez Bhabhi. Wear a dress, please. We're all wearing them. Please," Adya implored, giving her a puppy-dog look. Yashvi chuckled but declined with a nod.
