Advik and Yashvi were sprawled on the bed after another passionate make out session. Advik gazed at his wife, who seemed lost in her own thoughts, absentmindedly playing with his fingers. He gently held her hand, pulling her out of her reverie, and drew her a little closer to him.

"What are you thinking?" He asked, gently tilting her chin to meet her eyes. She shook her head, indicating it was nothing, and hugged him tightly, resting her chin on his bare chest and tracing her nails along his abdomen.

"Are you sure you won't tell me?" He asked, his fingers soothingly caressing her back. She looked at him, contemplating whether to share her thoughts or not. Finally, she decided that he wouldn't judge her, so she opened up.

"Weren't you ever apprehensive about our marriage? I mean, you come from such an amazing family and you're extremely wealthy. Why did you choose me?" She asked, her eyes locking with his, seeking answers and reassurance, which he gave her with a gentle smile.

"I won't lie to you. When Maa told me about you, I immediately declined. I had this notion that I would marry someone who had experience in a joint family and could understand those dynamics well. Maa talked to me about you nearly a year ago, and I clearly said no. She was quite adamant that if I didn't have a girlfriend, she wanted you as my wife. She was truly enchanted by you," he said with a chuckle, reminiscing how he had turned down the idea of marrying her when his mother had initially proposed the alliance. She looked at him, her heart churning at the prospect that he had outrightly rejected her, but she kept a straight face.

"Remember Kabir, my best friend?" He asked, gently patting her head, and she nodded, her face scrunching up as she recalled his cousin sister.

"He had a love marriage and had to separate from his family afterwards. I don't blame his wife. She had lived in a nuclear family all her life, and suddenly she was thrust into a big joint family. They couldn't have any privacy, and she hated how everyone interfered in their lives. He doesn't blame her because his family is at fault too. After constant fights, they decided to live separately from the family. You've seen me. For me, living without my family is very hard, Yashvi. It was so difficult during my college days when I was living abroad. Maa literally had to live with me for three months because I was so homesick," he explained softly.

"Maa somehow convinced me to meet you six months back. I remember the first time we met. You were dressed in a peach shirt and white pants. Your hair was tied in a bun, and you looked extremely tired, but you still had a smile on your face as soon as you saw your mother. You had just arrived from the office. I won't lie, but I was mesmerized. The way you smiled, and then Maa told me how you took care of your family, putting their priorities first. That was when I said yes, completely smitten by you. Trust me, it's the best decision of my life," he said, planting a firm yet tender kiss on her forehead, which made her giggle. Listening to him recount their first meeting, with every detail etched in his memory, made her heart race. Her cheeks flushed red, and she buried herself in his chest, making him laugh out loud.

"I will cook something for us, okay?" Advik asked as he sat on the bed and began removing his t-shirt, revealing his well-built physique. Yashvi's eyes couldn't help but admire him, causing her cheeks to flush bright red. He chuckled and leaned down to plant a kiss on her forehead.

"We're feeling shy now, aren't we?" he asked with a sly smirk. Leaning down again, he placed a kiss on the mole beneath her lower lip, eliciting a soft moan from her.

"You know how to cook?" Yashvi asked, pushing him away gently as she sat on the bed, adjusting the straps of her top.

"I lived alone for more than six years. I'm not a gourmet chef, but I've got survival skills, and my food tastes good too," he replied, his fingers tilting her chin as he planted a light kiss on her lips before straightening up.
