It's been a year since Percy's death, and everything went well as normal. Piper, Jason, and Annabeth went to high school together, and Frank and Hazel returned to the Romans. Annabeth had nightmares about Percy, which was still a touchy subject for her. But Poseiden hasn't gotten over him yet, there were earthquakes and storms once in a while. Sally had to calm him down so that he wouldn't hurt anyone. Blackjack had gone into depression and wonʻt eat as much unless someone convinced him or forces him.

They hadn't heard from Sally since, she must be heartbroken Annabeth thought.

Nico and Leo stayed at Camp Half-blood, Leo had brought back Calypso too. Now it was summer and all the six (including Nico) had gathered together to spend time. Piper noticed Nico and Leo had been smiling and happier than before the dream. Hazel said she always felt sadness around Leo even though he was smiling.

We were all eating breakfast, until of course, monsters.

"Bro, it was so cool. Annabeth was so smart, man"

Jason was telling the story about high school for the past year.

We were all having a good time, laughing and stuffing our faces, being well, normal. Until the ground shook and we heard a shout.

Jason rushed to the scene with the six following behind, there was a hoard of monsters stomping into Camp.

How'd they get past the barriers? Jason thought.

The conch horn was blown, and the campers got ready for battle. Jason grabbed his spear.

"For Olympus!"

Everyone charged head-on to the monsters. Hazel and Piper fought side to side, Piper confused the enemies and slashed with her dagger. She looks beautiful, Jason thought. Hazel fought with her, she made the mist to her control banging and spiking the monsters. The two girls fought with faith and whenever Piper was in trouble, Hazel butt in and they rotated.

There were hundreds of monsters, all organized.

Jason fought with Leo, as Jason slashed, Leo shot fireballs as Jason hacked at the monsters.

"Bro, I'm getting tired"

Jason looked at Leo, he was heaving, his eyes were dropping and his knees were shaking, ready to collapse. Before we could say anything, there was a boom in the distance. Immediately, the monsters we were fighting retreated. Jason rushed to the scene.

"Wait up man!"

Jason ignored Leo's plea, he saw the rest of the six and the camp staring at a man in a black ample cloak with a hood. He wore white bandages wrapped around his eyes, but for some reason, he could see a tint of green glow through it. He couldn't see anything else, but his presence was dark and cold. Jason couldn't tell where he was looking, he seemed to turn to....Annabeth? Jason shook his head.

Under the gaze, Jason was frozen in fear. Nobody went close to him. Despite the morning light, the atmosphere was dark and tense. His aura was spreading signals to Jason's instincts to just RUN. It seemed like his feet were stuck in the ground, and mud crept into his shoes.

Mud?

Suddenly, the hooded man raced to the woods, and finally, Jason could move, the earth seemed to hold everyone down until then. He raced into the woods following the black cloak, he was running so fast that Jason could barely follow him with his eyes. The man jumped and turned, confusing Jason's legs. He saw some Herme kids racing the man, Jason was losing stamina and his breath was shallow. It's best if I leave it to the Herme kids Jason thought. Jason slowly stopped, catching his breath, and the Herme kids zipped past him as the woods swallowed them. Jason walked back out of the woods to see the camp tending wounded and the six (plus Nico) investigating what had happened.

"No one should go into the forest for now.."

Annabeth said with an uneasy tone.

Then they noticed Jason trudging to them.

"Woah man"

Nico caught Jason as he toppled over.

"Hey Jason, glad you're okay. Did the Hermes kids come back?" Annabeth asked with concern.

Even though Jason did NOT look okay, he let that slide. The look of anxiety on her face made Jason not complain.

"They haven't been back yet?"

A look of distraught and worry crept on Nico's face. Jason stared back into the forest where everyone was staring as if waiting for the Herme's kids to come out.

"They aren't dead, or I would have felt it" Nico stated.

Silence.

"Did anyone see what happened when the hooded man arrived?" Leo asked.

"I did ask some campers, but nobody saw him even arrive. He was just..there."

There was a moment of silence.

"We plan to send a party to investigate in the forest and find them. Though the man seems very powerful I suggest one of you guys go"

We turn to see Chiron talking.

"Then we should send a party of 3"

Annabeth said.

"Who's the best fit to go?"

Jason asked.

All eyes turned on Annabeth, Hazel could tell she didn't handle attention very well since Percy. She used to share the questions and attention with Percy. Hezel could see the bead of sweat roll down her cheek.

"Uhm- I believe Jason, Frank, and I should go because Jason can run fast, Frank goes fast when he morphs, and I.. " Annabeth replied.

Annabeth felt all eyes on her, she had never felt so much pressure. She used to share it with Percy, right Percy..., she had a flashback of how Percy fell into the pit. She started to sweat,

"Maybe Nico should go instead of me."

"Alright," Frank replied.

Over the years, we all built trust in each other so Nico wasn't scary to us, plus he's been happier.

It was evening, Frank, Jason, and Nico were sent to the woods to look for the Herme kids who still hadn't come back yet.

"Let's do this," Jason said as he was in front of the woods.

Annabeth watched all 3 of them get swallowed by the woods.
