Annabeth woke up with a startle in Percy's bed, tears were streaming down. She looked outside, the sun was almost up, the pale yellow streaked the sky, with the ocean humming.
The ocean.
Everything reminded Annabeth of Percy, ever since he was gone, Annabeth was always crying and having nightmares. She always tried to hide it from the others so they wouldn't worry. This has been going on for a year and still is today. Poseidon wasn't the same either, the gods had been quiet the past year, but they still kept their promise to Percy. Though no new campers came in. Poseiden hasn't started an earthquake in a while, which is great, maybe Sally finally calmed him down.
Annabeth could hear the clinch horn blow and campers going for breakfast. Annabeth noticed the little blue teddy bear she had knitted last night for his birthday.
Today's his birthday.
Every day she felt regret about how she never got to be with Percy longer. The guilt weighed her down every day she started to panic faster and stress more.
She wiped her tears when someone swung the door open. It was Thalia, she was in her silver armor glinting in the sun.
"Hey, Ann. Breakfast"
"You came today?"
"Just for Seaweed Brain."
She noticed the blue bear sitting on the fountain that stopped flowing ever since Percy died. The fountain had cobwebs and cracks all over it.
"It's for Percy's Birthday."
She replied looking the other way, She tried her best not to whimper. She wanted to cry and scream in his salty warm arms. She just wanted to see him again, even at the cost of the world.
Luckily, Thalia knew Annabeth too well to just walk off. She sat down on Percy's bed with Annabeth staring at the blue bear with her.
"What happened?"
Annabeth knew she couldn't hide it from Thalia, she knew Annabeth too well.
"I had a nightmare about Percy."
Thalia stayed silent.
"Percy wouldn't want to see you like this on his birthday."
Annabeth knew Thalia was right.
"Ok"
She wiped her tears off and smiled at Thalia.
As Annabeth and Thalia went to their tables, Hazel and Nico noticed Annabeth holding a blue-knitted teddy bear.
Hazel gave a sympathetic look at Annabeth.
"It must feel hard for Annabeth," Hazel said with a sad tone in her voice.
Nico's head was down.
"It's hard for everyone."
Hazel could see the tables were silent and everyone had sad looks on their faces. Hazel could see the seven crying or looking down.
Annabeth stared at the statue she made over the past year where Riptile stood. They couldn't find the real sword Riptile so we created a stone statue of it.
Chiron galloped along in front of all the tables.
"Demigods! Today is the day of our passed Hero of Olympus, Percy Jackson's 18th birthday! We shall celebrate for our hero."
Annabeth could see Chiron shaking and beginning to cry while talking. Out of nowhere, the sky rumbled loudly. Everyone froze. A shadow came from above, coming closer. It turned out to be Hermes, the god of travels, thieves, trade, and messengers. He lightly landed without a sound, the clouds were gray and rumbled above. Hermes looked worried and stressed, usually, gods are all glamorous and pretty, but Hermes looked horrible. His hair was messed up, his bag was all ruffled up and his eyes looked dull.
"Per-Jason, Annabeth, Hazel, Frank, Leo, Piper, and Nico are called to Olympus now for emergency needs."
Annabeth's heart sank when he almost said Percy's name. Sometimes Annabeth would think that everyone thought Jason was a replacement for Percy, it hurt her. He was a one of a kind Seaweed Brain.
Are we called to Olympus? What's going on? Why on Percy's Birthday?
Annabeth had lots of questions, she'd gotten more temper since Percy. Everyone looked at Dionysus who was as worried and serious as Hermes. He nodded.
Leo said bye to Calypso and told her he'll be back,
Reluctantly, Annabeth walked up with the seven to Hermes.
Frank could see the rage in Annabeth's eyes and some of the seven, but Frank was mad too. We have to go to Olympus on Percy's birthday!
Nico could tell Heremes felt uncomfortable under the raging eyes of the seven.
"So how do we get there then?"
Nico raised an eyebrow, a thing he picked up from Percy.
"Don't worry."
He said it with a stern and dull tone. With a wave of hand, The seven disappeared from Camp Half-blood.
