07: Monsters
She had been staring at a grey wall in a cell that resembled too much of a prisons for her taste. Her eyes wandered around, glancing at the walls that appeared as if they were clawed at by wild dogs or cats and stained brown spots that appeared to be blood by its wicked stench that caused Haven to wrinkle her nose. There was a not a second where she felt safe or comfortable, especially with such a flipsy, piss spelt blanket on the bunker she was given or even the bunker itself.
And she was pissed. Her blood boiled and once she saw someone in this blasted place, Haven knew she would blow her top off. She had no fear of digging her nails into someone's eyes, especially when she had no clue where Hazel was. And that scared her the most.
Her knees clung to her chest as she sat herself in the far corner of her cell looking out the bars that were probably made of the same substance she touched when she was in the cage. And god, how that burn. At the memory, she glanced at her hands. They were burned.
The sight of them made her cringe. What was that cage made out of? Where was she in the first place and who the hell was Patrick? At the thought, a door opened from the far right- outside of her cell, releasing a musky scent of a grassy substance- and a hint of... she couldn't put her finger on it. The scent in general was too mixed for her to pinpoint it, but it was a sort of nice scent nothing too different or overpowering.
A man walked up to her cell door. When Haven looked at him, she saw how incredibly built he was, under that layer of clothes she would see his muscle tone that was full of power. And she had to admit, he was quite beautiful.
"My name is Delta Jason, I'll be taking you to the Alphas for scoring," he said in a bored tone as his hands moved into his pockets to find the keys of her cell. His bright green eyes kept on her and were outlined by his dark-skin tone, but nothing less- he was mesmerizing, Haven wasn't about to admit that, however.
Haven stared at him in awe, her dress from Julie Davis' party clung to her body and appeared ragged at this point. She felt as if she hadn't showered for days and felt as if she smelt like at least vomit. And Delta Jason looked at her, less interested each time until she questioned him.
"What is a Delta?" Her eyes were big like a baby doe and at that moment even in her adult dress, she appeared as a innocent child. Clueless to the world around her and what she was, and that sprang something inside Jason. He had done jobs like this multiple times in the past months, and each one of those blasted rogues knew what the were, knew what was going to become of them. And this one, this girl dared question him on what his rank was.
He unlocked the door and motioned her to come, and it was then she realized how tall this man was. Over her five feet and seven inches, he towered over her and radiated even more of an intimidation aura.
"You will follow me, understand? Our thetas injected you with a wolfsbane base medication that forces your wolf to stay at bay. You do anything, even injure yourself and it won't heal as it should," he narrowed his brows at her.
Haven nodded as she walked out the cell doors and followed Delta Jason to her next location, wherever that may be.
"Delta Jason," Haven began as she watched his back muscles tense while they continued to walk out the complete room where her cell was and further stepped into the halls with doors on each side that passed by in a breeze.
"Why am I here?"
He quickly opened a door, causing it to nearly fly open with such force. "My job here is to make sure you get to the Alphas for evaluation. I said this already," he shook his head, a bit agitated.
"Your first stop is with Alpha Jax, he is professioned in medical and physical health," he paused. "You, as a rogue, will go through the ten High Alphas, score high and people bid on you- that means you'll be accepted into a pack, especially when they see you fight. If you fail and don't receive bids, you die. Point blank. So, don't think you can pull some, 'I'm going to hide in trees', bullshit," Jason spoke.
He motioned to the door to enter, and Haven did as she was told.
"Remember, when you enter, you're fighting with the wolves," and he slapped the door closed, leaving her alone once again.
