Case Name - Your Pretty Face (cont.)
When I awoke the following morning it wasn't to my alarm clock. The dumb ass sun had been hitting me right in the face for the last ten minutes. I tried to go back to sleep but it just wasn't in the cards for me.
When I opened my eyes, I was met with the sun rays piercing through a tiny crack that was revealed from the way my blackout curtains. I instantly pull my head back with a hand to shield myself from it.
"Stupid sun..." I grumble.
Once reality starts to set in, I lay back down. And then something stirs from next to me. Since my body was twisted weirdly; my lower half was still on its side and my upper half was laying flat, all I had to do was turn my head and look at the culprit.
And that's when everything from the night before came crashing back.
Harley being tossed in the pool.
Me saving Harley.
Harley asking to spend the night.
Harley and I were now friends.
That last thought made me smile as I watched the girl sleep. Her mouth was parted slightly and she looked so peaceful. The sun created this beautiful golden aura that traveled along the silhouette of her body. My comforter rested just at her hip so from the waist up her body was visible.
She had her hair pushed behind her shoulder and one hand under her right cheek while the other rested out in front of her.I followed her arm, letting my eyes travel down until I saw where her hand was. It rested right near my shirt. Where I remember she had grabbed before falling asleep. You could tell her fingers gave out the moment she went to sleep because the back of her hand rested on the bed with her fingers relaxed outward.
This girl.
I felt my chest squeeze and quickly lift my gaze up to look at her face again. She was so freaking pretty yet absolutely adorable at the same time. I had the urge to reach out and touch her cheek. But something told me she needed this sleep. So I allowed her that much.
With one final look, I quietly slip out of bed. Once I was free I stand up and freeze. Harley had moved and started to roll over onto her back. And then onto her side. That's when I realized the sun was still shining through. So I rushed over and closed the curtains, engulfing the room into darkness again.
Looking over my shoulder, I saw that Harley had never woken up. Just curled up under my blankets and then fell right back to sleep. I sighed out in relief.
After I knew she was good, I quietly left the room. I had my back to my sister's room as I slowly shut the door. Making sure there were no loud clicks or slams.
"What are you doing?"
"AH!" I yell out at the sudden surprise before slapping my hand over my mouth as I turn around
My sister stared at me with a raised brow.
"Are you okay?"
Once the shock wore off I huff and then nodded.
"Yeah I'm alright." I say in a soft voice.
My sister was still looking at me all weird. Looking from me to my door then back at me.
"Why are you whispering and what are you hiding?" She whisper-asked. Sounding sarcastic.
I just gave her a deadpan look before flipping her off and then heading for the kitchen.
