Case Name: Funny
It's dangerous feeling the bite of love.
You develop this slow burning crush that doesn't seem significant as you go about your daily life. Yeah the crush sometimes finds your thoughts but it's easy to push them away. At first.
The more you hang out with this crush the more these feelings grow. You keep telling yourself how you won't let it consume you. That you got this. And that works for a good while.
Until it doesn't.
She texts you and tells you how she had a dream about you. How you kissed her and you were crying. And then you talked all night. Only for the dream to end in having sex.
You ask her how she felt about it. And her response was;
"I couldn't stop thinking about you."
So naturally that makes you feel some type of way. You have to see her and you want to talk more about it.
Well, you get what you wish for.
Except when you do visit her, she introduces you to a guy she's been talking to.
"His name is Phil."
Doing your best not to make a face over it, you offer a smile.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm glad Cairo decided to introduce us. She's always talking about how wonderful her best friend is."
His voice was deep and his handshake was firm. He was a cutie, you'd agree. But he wasn't cute enough for you to understand why this guy. Why would Cairo pick someone so... plain.
It was a struggle to be around him. And an even harder struggle to watch Cairo smile up at him like he hung the moon for her.
Remember that bite of love? Yeah, well now it's a full blown infection.
That spread through you like wildfire. Igniting that angry green monster of jealousy.
It ate at you every time she'd talk about him. May that be through text or during your phone calls. It made you not want to be around her. So you spent time away from Cairo. A week's worth. Yeah you texted, still called. But you didn't physically see her. So it became easy to allow that jealousy to settle.
Yet your crush raged on. Those minimal thoughts from before? Now an everyday occurrence. You thought about that dream she spoke of. How she said you two had sex together in the dream and how it made her think of you. If dream you was that good then you knew reality you could live up to those expectations.
But now, you don't have that chance. Not with Phil in the picture.
Or so you thought.

"Can I come spend the night with you?"
That was Cairo's question the second you answered her phone call. You had been sitting on your couch watching tv when she called.
"Sure, if you want." You said, trying to act nonchalant.
Your heart was acting differently. Pounding against your chest so hard that you almost want to throw up.
