Chapter 2

Author's Note: While watching the Jurassic World movie I thought that the guy who was with Vivian in the control room name was Larry but I looked up the cast it turns out his name was Lowery. I don't know it sounded like Larry to me. If I was wrong I'll change it back but I still think it's Larry. Oh well.

I walked into the control room and there Lowery and Vivian were sitting as usual. Both of them had their eyes transfixed on the monitor in front of them.

"Nice shirt Lowery," I said walking over so I was in between him and Vivian.

"Really?" He looked at me surprised and quite pleased.

"Yeah, where'd you get it?" I inquired, trying to further the conversation.

"eBay. It was from the first park. It was a hundred for a mint conditioned one but the others rose for higher prices."

"Well I like it."

"Thanks." He smiled at me and I returned the smile to him.

"So how is everything?" I asked, pulling up a rolling chair.

"Well we have six kids in lost and found and-" the elevator door then opened and Owen, Claire and Mr. Soto walked in.

I don't recall Mr. Soto ever telling me his first name. Maybe he did but I forget. I didn't really pay attention when he introduced himself.

"Nicole!" Owen yelled my name and walked over to me.

"Yeah?" I said, looking up at him.

"What the hell did you do to my raptors?" He snapped. I stood up casually and spoke.

"Well, let's see you weren't there so I was training with them. On Claire's orders."

"Claire?!" He shouted in anger just as she walked through the chrome elevator doors.

"Yes Mr. Grady?" She said, her nose in her phone. Typical.

"Owen. Not Mr. Grady."

"Fine. What Owen?"

"Did you tell Nicole to train my raptors?"

"I told her to go down to the raptor cage and train Mr. Soto." She told him, looking up at him as if to ask what the big deal was.

"Well that is my job Claire."

"Just, make sure he gets trained. I have to go meet my nephews." Claire then left. Leaving me, Owen and Mr. Soto in the control room. Everyone else had turned their attention from us back to the screens, showing all areas of the park.

"Now I have to go see what the hell you've done to my raptors."
Owen spat bitterly, turning to leave. As if I had cared where he was going, I sat back down.

"Owen wait." Mr. Soto spoke.

"What?"

"What exactly do I do?"

"Stay with her. The last thing I need is a new person around the raptors." New person? I've been working here for five years and I'm new? If I recall, it was Owen who showed me the raptors when I first started working here. I rolled my eyes back at Owen's comment.

"Yes Mr. Grady."

"Owen." And then with that final word Owen left.

"Well Lowery, I'm going to make my rounds and I'll contact control if something is wrong." Standing up, I gabbed a radio and walked towards the elevator.
