I didn't go to school for three days, I had to watch my mother. Every night I couldn't sleep, I would hear her wailing and crying, calling out mine or Jane's name for help. Jane moved into my room for the three days. I bought her headphones to block out the sound so she wouldn't be tempted. This was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. It was hard to hear her calling for me like she was being murdered but I couldn't go to help her. Every time I did go in her room to bring her water or food she was sweating and begging me for a drink. When I told her no, she would scream and thrash in her restrictions, swearing my name. I was terrified cops would be called on us for all the loud noises. Jane ended up sleeping over at her friends house because the noise was becoming too much. After awhile, my mom was getting better. I took her out of her restraints and she went back to work. She seemed to be alright, nothing too drastic happened for multiple weeks. Until she disappeared again. I knew she would relapse but a small part of me hoped she wouldn't anymore. I think that day is when I gave up on her. I had no desire to help her anymore, why should I?

Months passed by and we were already in summer. I rarely saw my mother, but I knew she was around. I felt closer to Julia but every once in awhile, she would be gone for days as well. When she would come back she would tell me she was just going on a trip with her family every once in awhile. I guess I believed it but I realized this woman was almost my life line. Digging her claws deeper in my soul, making me want to give up my whole life for her. One night while Jane was with our grandparents and I was working on school I heard rapid knocking at the door. When I went to go check on who it was, I saw a few people I never recognized. They looked like college kids, maybe early 20s.
"You Robert?" "Yeah why?" "Your girlfriend is in our car, she fucking puked all over my dad's new couch. I hope you realize how much that's gonna cost to replace." "Is she alright?" "She's fine, asleep. I need you to get her the fuck out of my car. If you could make sure that girl of yours doesn't come up to my parties anymore I'd really appreciate it." "Yeah I can do that." "Great. Now come get her."
She was mumbling while laying down. I didn't know if she was dreaming, but she was drunk or extremely high. I picked up her and took her into the house. She woke up when I placed her on the bed and smiled.
"Hi Robbie. Thanks for saving me. Those guys had no idea how to party and when I tried to teach them. They fucking kicked me out. What stupid fucks?!" "You need a shower." "Oooh a shower?" "What did you take?" "Just some China white, but I'm alright." "Let's go. I need to take care of you."
I helped her up and picked her up bridal style.
"My knight and shinning armor."
I chuckled a little but my feelings drained away. I started the shower and helped her undress so she could take a shower. I was about to walk away before she grabbed my jeans and pulled me to her chest. Water was pouring over my head. I kissed her on the forehead real quick.
"I'll be right here if you need me."
I ended up having to hold her up so she could shower. I couldn't tell if she was really fucked up or just sad about something. When I got her to my bed and grabbed my hand and begged me to sleep next to her. I took her in my arms. She felt distant and cold but at the same time warm and comforting.
The next morning she was in my chest asleep. I woke up and waited for her to wake up. When she did she smiled and kissed me.
"Morning." "Can we talk about last night?" "Did I puke?" "N0. I just want to know what happened." "Oh. It's just shit with my family. They stress me out but I'm fine now. Speaking of which can I stay with you for awhile. I don't want to go back home." "Well-." "It's not a well Robbie. I'm your girlfriend can I stay or not?" "Fine you can stay but you can't stay forever. I have a lot of shit to deal with." "Yeah I know. I'll help out with rent." "How long?" "About three months if that's alright with you?" "Where did your family go?" "They're gone. And until I can get an apartment this is all I have. Unless you want me to go to some random dudes house and sleep there." "No never." "Great."
She jumped up and kissed him before running to the kitchen. She made breakfast for him and headed off to work like nothing happened. When Jane got back she saw Julia's clothes in my room. She looked mad but wouldn't say anything. I thought Julia being here wouldn't be too bad, but I was hoping for something I knew would turn into chaos.
