Destiny's POV
Her Apartment
September 15"Come on, we need to get up." I sighed, looking down at Nilaya. We'd been lounging around most of the day-which was something I never used to do.
"No thanks." She shook her head.
"I promised your sister a shopping spree, so yes."
"No." Nilaya sat up, facing me.
"What do you mean no?" I mirrored her facial expression. "We need to cheer your sister up."
"Zammy's sad?"
"Mhm." I nodded my head. "You ain't seen her moping around?"
She had a reason to mope around. We all did. My mother had been holding prayer nights at her home for the past few days, as we tried to make sense of all the chaos around us.
I took my godmother and aunt duties up a notch and took the girls off of Beyoncé's hands.
Although she didn't explicitly express her gratitude, the way she hugged me and refrained from crying told me how much my assistance meant to her.
She was my big sister, I'd do anything for her.
"Come on, Laya. We got serious bidness to take care of." I stood and then helped her up.
When I was sure Nilaya was fine, I left my living room, going to the guest bedroom. I silently knocked before entering and found Zamora fast asleep.
I walked over to the bed, laying down beside her. Her sister did the same and laid down between us. She snuggled in which caused Zamora to turn over.
"Wake her up nicely." I instructed Nilaya.
A grin formed on her face and she leaned down to kiss her sister's cheek. Repeated kisses were placed all over her face until she swatted Nilaya in the face.
I had to stifle my laugh as Nilaya's jaw dropped.
"She hit me?"
"She hit you." I instigated, then remembered Zamora wasn't in a great mood, so I could let them fake argue. "By accident."
"Nah uh." She shook her head.
"Zamora, can you wake up for me?" I leaned over Nilaya to shake her.
"Mhm." She lowly hummed.
"You still want that shopping spree?"
Her head shook and I sighed.
"How about we go to the mall for a little bit, then we can go check on your parents?" I suggested because I'm sure that's what she truly wanted.
"Really?" She turned to face us and we were already staring at her.
"Yes." I nodded my head. "We can buy some stuff for your mom to help her recover."
"Mommy needs a ball." Nilaya chirped.
"Mommy does or you do?" I raised a brow.
"Boff." She shrugged, moving over to cuddle her big sister. "Zammy does too. Right, Zammy?"
"Sure."
"Let's get up and we can go to everything."
"Fine."
"Yay!" I cheered and joined their cuddle. "We'll let you be and when you're ready we'll be by the door." I spoke as I picked up Nilaya.
"Nooooo!" The four year old wriggled in my arms. She was already tall, so it didn't take long for her to be back on the bed.
