Chapter 5 - 'Candy and Nicknames'

Days, months, even years went by, and something happened throughout that course of time.

What was that something?

Well, the answer is simple:

The realization by kids, parents, employees, and even other animatronics that Sun and Moon would one day take Eclipse's place as the Daycare Attendant, meaning that Eclipse would soon be shut down for good and Sun and Moon would become the new daycare attendants in his place.

You see, Eclipse's tech and programming was slowly becoming older, not just in the sense that his tech was becoming outdated, but also in the sense that he was slowly losing touch with what little kids would become interested in within future years.

This also meant that Sun and Moon's childlike body was merely temporary, and that shortly before Eclipse would be shut down, Sun and Moon would be upgraded into a body that resembles that of an adult's body, just like Eclipse himself.

But Sun and Moon didn't know that yet, and neither did they know what was about to happen to them as they were then...

One day, when Eclipse was escorting a little girl out of the daycare because she was sick, he felt Glamrock Freddy tap his shoulder.

"What is it, Freddy?" Eclipse asked, curious.

Freddy pointed at a nearby screen in the Pizzaplex hall, and Eclipse looked at the screen.

"Oh... Oh my stars!" he shouted, in shock.

It was the first time he saw, with his very eyes... the Sunnydrop and Moondrop candies and their posters.

The Sunnydrop candies were said to boost people's energy, whilst the Moondrop candies were said to make people sleepy. Each poster had Sun and Moon on it respectively, with Sun appearing excited to unwrap the candy, while Moon was seen sleeping peacefully.

"Your superstars of sons are famous, Mr. Eclipse!" Freddy said joyously while Eclipse stood there frozen in surprise.

Eclipse stood in shock for around a minute before he turned to Freddy and asked, "Why didn't anyone tell me about these candies?!" while shaking Freddy.

Freddy made Eclipse stop and calmly explained that Sun and Moon agreed to promote these candies and that the higher-ups at Fazbear Entertainment wanted to keep the candies a surprise from Eclipse, and that they didn't think he'd be as shocked as he was at that moment.

Eclipse then regained his composure as he then said to Freddy, "I'll talk to Sun and Moon about this. I can't believe they'd hide this behind my back..."

When Eclipse got back into the daycare, he then heard something:

The kids at the daycare were now referring to Sun by a new name:

Sundrop.

"Sundrop?" Eclipse thought to himself... but then he heard kids refer to Sun by other names:

Sunrise, Sunman, Sunny, Mr. Sun, hell, even Sunnydrop, the name of the candies he had encountered that promoted his daytime-themed son!

Then naptime arrived.

Shortly before the kids fell asleep, Eclipse heard Moon being referred to by new nicknames as well:

Moony, Moonrise, Mr. Moony, Mr. Moon, Moonman, man-in-the-moon, but most prominently of all...

...Moondrop.

To Eclipse, all of this felt like it had just happened today, even though he didn't know how long the candies have been out for.

More importantly, he felt as though his trust was betrayed by his own sons, even though they probably didn't mean to hurt him that way.

Sun and Moon were, for sure, in for a very stern talking-to from their father.
