8. Tohru's home

Kyo and Tohru were about to leave when Kyo suddenly held her hand. "Kyo-kun?" Tohru said as she looked at him. "M-my guards are outside the college. If they see me, they..." Kyo said as he trembled from head to toe. "Then let's leave from the other entrance." Tohru suggested, making Kyo nod.

Tohru kept holding Kyo's hand while gently humming a lullaby to calm him down. Eventually, Kyo calmed down and slowly relaxed. There were three entrances to this college. One was the main entrance, the second was an entrance at the left of the gate, leading to the main road. The last was the back entrance, which led to the forest behind them. Kyo and Tohru stealthily left the college from the entrance which was connected to the road. However, to their surprise, a few men dressed in black suits were standing at the main entrance, their backs facing them. Kyo shivered, because he was right behind Akito's men. Luckily, just at that time, a cab passed by, making Tohru stop it and get inside along with Kyo. The cab drove away.

After driving a safe distance, Tohru told the driver her house address. Once reaching her home, Tohru paid the driver and quickly went inside while holding Kyo's hand. "Welcome home, Tohru." Kyoko called her daughter, making Tohru look at her. "Mom! I'm back!!" Tohru said cheerfully as she hugged her mother.

Looking at their interaction, tears spilled out of Kyo's eyes. He never experienced familial love from anyone. Before meeting Tohru, all he knew was fear and submission. Kyoko looked at Kyo and smiled at him warmly before leaving her daughter and hugging him as well.

Kyo's eyes bulged as he stood frozen in his place for a while before he hugged Kyoko back, burying his face into her chest and crying his eyes out. How he wished... his parents never left him. How he wished Akira never found him when he was begging on the streets. Because he hated seeing the murderer of his parents lead such a carefree, lavish life without remorse.

Yes. Around two years ago, Kyo found out that his parents, Lili and Kazuma Sohma were the real owners of the Sohma groups. Not only that, he even found out that his parents were murdered by none other than his adoptive parents.

That night, Kyo suddenly felt thirsty and went to the kitchen to get some water, when he heard his adoptive parents whispering to each other. Any normal human at the distance Kyo was from them couldn't discern a single noise. However, due to being the cat of the zodiac, Kyo had a keen sense of hearing and smell, at least ten times stronger than regular humans. And so, when Kyo heard his adoptive parents, he was about to leave, when the name of his mother made him stop on his tracks.

"Damn that Lili! That stupid will is driving me crazy!" Ren whisper shouted at Akira. "We can't do anything about that Ren. I thought if we killed my stupid brother and his wife, we'll get all their property. Yet who would've thought that damn woman will make a will like this!" Kyo was shocked speechless. His parents... were killed by his own adoptive parents?

"Just what kind of a will was that?" Ren cursed. "That monster must be taken care of by us until he turns eighteen. Once he turns eighteen we must hand over the property to him. If he dies or disappears before the age of eighteen, all the property will be given to charity?"

There was no anger or hate in his eyes. Just pure shock. He always thought his parents were killed by one of his mother's rivals. Yet, he never imagined it would be his own uncle and aunt. The will his mother made shocked him even more.

Kyo remained frozen in his place when his girlfriend's mother hugged him for a while, before hugging her back as tears spilled out of his eyes. "Kyo dear, I heard everything from my daughter. Thank you so much for coming into Tohru's life. Because ever since she met you, she had always kept talking about you."

"Aunty-" Kyo started but was cut across by Kyoko. "Don't call me aunty. Just call me Kyoko-san." Kyoko said making Kyo nod. "Kyoko-san, Tohru... there is something... I need to tell both of you." Kyo said, catching both of their attention.

And so, Kyo told them everything about himself. The zodiac secret. How his parents were the real owners of the Sohma estate. How they both were killed unjustly by his own uncle. How his mother made a will, saying he was the sole heir to her property, thereby making them find him and take him into custody for the property. How he was mistreated by Akito.

Kyo revealed the deepest, darkest secrets that stored deep in his heart, all while shivering. Kyoko was shocked speechless while Tohru cried. She never thought her Kyo-kun would suffer this much for something he never did.

Unable to bear it anymore, Tohru hugged Kyo while crying. 'He went through so much... at such a tender age. And no one even saved him? Is the world so blind to such atrocities?' Tohru thought as continued hugging Kyo, which the latter returned. The next moment, Tohru's eyes turned red. For the first time in her life, she knew how it feels to hate someone from the depths of their heart.

Kyo did nothing wrong. Yet he had to suffer in silence for years, all for something he never did. Kyoko walked forward and hugged the two of them, while crying silently. However, the next moment, her eyes turned red as well. Looks like 'The Red Butterfly', was about to come back.
