11. Tender Love

Later that day, Kyo and Tohru went outside and bought themselves two cycles. Since Kyo's life was controlled so strongly by Akito all those years, he barely knew anything about the outside world. And so, Tohru slowly took him out and let him gain the exposure he needed.

Initially, Kyo was scared and kept clinging onto Tohru like a scared little boy who was brought outside for the first time... which was right in a manner of speaking. However, he eventually calmed down. Tohru taught Kyo how to ride a cycle, and to her surprise, Kyo was a very fast learner. He learnt in just one day! "Wow! You're fast at grasping things Kyo-kun!" Tohru asked him once he returned to Tohru's side after riding for half an hour. "Really?!" Kyo's eyes brightened like two stars as a warm smile akin to sunshine spread across his lips.

Tohru couldn't help but chuckle slightly. His expression was so cute! Just like a child was given a chocolate after a long time. "Why are you laughing?" Kyo asked. "You look so cute! Just like a baby!" Tohru teased him, turning Kyo's face red in embarrassment. However, he chuckled slightly, making Tohru look at him as they entered the house.

"Why are you laughing?" Tohru asked. "I might look like a baby. But I'm a beast... especially in bed." Kyo whispered, turning Tohru's face red. She hit his shoulder teasingly before turning around in embarrassment. "You pervert! How can you say stuff like that so casually!" Tohru asked. She literally has a big baby in her house.

Kyo laughed, a feeling of triumph winning his heart. Feeling annoyed, Tohru pulled out a spatula and ran towards Kyo, ready to hit him. Kyo ran away, with Tohru chasing him all over the house, the two of them laughing with glee.

Kyo was reborn, like a phoenix from the ashes. He got excited and ecstatic at every small thing, and it in turn made Tohru so happy. While they often kissed each other, they never took it a step further yet still waiting for the right time.

Tohru taught Kyo how to live his life independently, happily and with dignity. She taught him how to be firm, how to make decisions for himself, while at the same time being wise and keeping in mind the consequences of the decisions taken. She taught him how to be responsible and never act reckless.

Kyo took up a job as a karate trainer in a nearby dojo, while Tohru became a pre-school teacher. Although they weren't rich like Kyo's old life, they were both extremely happy with the little money they had.

Kyo wanted to relive his childhood. He had small wishes like buying new stories, chocolates and candies, just like any five-year-old child. And Tohru gave in to his demands. The poor boy basically had no childhood, so why not try it now? After all... it was always better late than never.

Tohru even taught Kyo how to bargain... which ended up backfiring, since Kyo ran away from the vendors who were ready to throw their shoes at him for his horrible skills. Tohru stood there laughing her heart out while Kyo kept running away. Lucky for him, Kyo was very fast compared to those vendors due to being trained in karate.

Every day was filled with small things like cooking, cleaning the house, going for romantic evening walks and working. "Tohru, you should really open your own bakery. You bake the best cakes and cookies I ever had!" Kyo said one day after Tohru baked a few cookies for fun. "I'd rather have you open your own dojo. Isn't your dream to open your own dojo, Kyo-kun?" Tohru asked. Kyo simply smiled and didn't say anything, because he knew... no matter what he said, Tohru would not listen.

Kyo walked over to Tohru. "Well then, let's wait for some more time and earn more money. Once we earn enough, let's open a bakery and a dojo at the same time. Okay?" Kyo asked, making Tohru nod in agreement. Kyo hugged Tohru, while latter returned it, simply leaning against her love's chest while listening to his heartbeat. Lub dub, lub dub, lub dub, it was almost like a beautiful melody Tohru never got tired of listening.

Time flew by, and it has been a whole year since they ran away from Akito. And today was their anniversary. They spent the whole day together, going to an amusement park nearby, eating street food and enjoying the beautiful weather.

"Kyo-kun," Tohru spoke up, making Kyo look at her. "Let's go for dinner, okay? I already reserved seats for us in a nearby restaurant." Kyo nodded happily and the two of them went to their rooms to change.

When Tohru came out, Kyo gasped under his breath. She was heavenly beautiful, just like a goddess. Her long, brown hair was let loose, while she was wearing a beautiful, white colored frock and pink closed shoes.

Tohru walked over to Kyo and kissed his cheek, while Kyo simply let that feeling fill his body. "Tohru," Kyo spoke up and held her hands. "Hm?" "Can we... um... uh... c-can we... uuhh..." Realizing Kyo's hesitation, Tohru spoke up. "Just tell me Kyo-kun. I promise I won't get mad."

"C-can we do it today?" Kyo asked feeling embarrassed as a bright red shade spread across his face, spreading to the base of his neck. Tohru was shocked for a split second before she laughed out loud, making Kyo feel even more embarrassed. "Okay. But first, let's enjoy our anniversary, okay? We'll do it after we come back." Tohru said, making Kyo nod, his face turning even more red. However, Tohru's laughs unknowingly formed a smile on his lips as well, making him join in as well.

'It's our anniversary. It's been a whole year and Akito still didn't find us! She'll never find us again!' Kyo squealed in his mind.

'Luckily, we managed to survive a year without being found. But... I should never underestimate Akito. Given what she did to Kyo-kun all these years, it's only a matter of time before she finds us.' Tohru thought.

In Kyo's eyes, Tohru looked like the queen of angels, beautiful, graceful and elegant, while in Tohru's eyes, Kyo looked just like a gallant prince charming. Kyo walked over to Tohru and hugged her, with Tohru returning it.

'Dear god, please. Please do not snatch her away from me. Or I swear I will destroy everyone.' Kyo vowed in his heart. 'Dear god, please protect my Kyo-kun. Our time is little, and he has many enemies. Please protect him.' Tohru prayed.
