When I wake up it was by my mother. We both fell asleep on the couch last night after talking. I actually did talk to my mom. It felt nice to tell her what was going on in my life. She was happy about me going on the dance team and she was happy that I went to the game last night. I know that talking a ton like this is weird but it felt normal.
"Are you okay with skipping school?" She asks me. I rub my eyes and nod. "Was last night with us talking a one time thing?" She asks me. I shake my head.
"It's because I just woke up." I say with a rough voice. She gives an understanding nod and puts on the clothes Carter sent home with me for her.
"That was so nice of him to buy those things for us." She says and I agree with her. "But today we're going to go shopping. I have set certain amounts of money for everything. So don't worry we will never have to live like this again." She says I smile and hug her again. I'm so proud of my mom.
"Okay. But why do I have to skip school? Can't we just go after?" I ask her.
"I want you to help pick out a house." She says. I squeal and smile like I'm insane. I quickly get dressed in the jeans Carter got me and the jacket. My mom and I walk to town not caring that it was a few miles. We had so much energy and were to excited to wait. First my mom and I went to go get a car. She wanted one so she could at least get me to school and get herself to work.
It took about two hours for her to get a good car. She bought a Ford Fusion which was a small back car. It was nice and fit my mom perfectly.
"Okay now lets go looking at houses." She says and we drive to an Realtor.
"Hello. I'm Patricia and how can I help you today?" She asks me.
"Well we're new here and we're looking for a house in our price range." My mother tells her.
"Okay and what exactly is your price range?" She asks my mom.
"1-2 thousand a month." My mother tells her. Patricia nods and starts typing on her computer.
"Are you in the Ireton district?" She asks. As soon as she says that I think back to last night where I met that kid. Matt. He was really good at football. His personality seemed nice from what I could tell and he was cute. I just wish I could have talked more to him, get his number. I'm not even sure what I would do because I don't have a phone. "Okay so you're in the Draughn district." She says and types again. "Well we happen to have some nice ones that are available to be moved into asap." Patricia says. My mother smiles.
"Perfect." We all stand up and head to our cars.
"This one is nice. It's a two bedroom and two and a half bath. The nice thing about this house is that their is an attic space. It's been fixed so it is livable. So there is technically 3 bedrooms. It is two stories with this one being the top and there being a basement." Patricia explains to my mom. They both walk into the kitchen and I walk around the house. I wanted to check out the rooms and see if we got this house. I really like it so far. It's not too big and it's not to small. Since it is just going to be the two of us we didn't need much space. I eventually make it to a to a closed door. I open it and find that it leads to the attic. They were actual stairs, not like a pull down latter but stairs. I begin to walk up them and they turn a corner. The attic space was big and nice. There was a huge window at the back of the room which shows the woods that were behind the house. I really like this house now. There was a closet and there was a little indented area of the room. It was about seven feet in wide and two feet deep. This would be the perfect spot for a bed. I look around and find another door seeing that it is my own bathroom. This is a really good attic space. I'm in love with this house.
