We were all sitting in the restaurant waiting for the host to come out and start the banquet. Everyone had to dress up. I don't like dressing up unless I have too. Every girl here was wearing a dress and heels. It was weird.
Tyler was wearing a navy blue laced dress with black heels. She looks so pretty. Her makeup was perfect and her hair was curled. She is everything I want to be.
Me on the other hand I was wearing a dress. The top was black and it stopped a little below my chest. A sheer material connects the top and the skirt together. The skirt starts a little above my belly button so it shows my stomach. It wasn't too revealing which I liked. I wore black pumps with mine and had my hair in my natural curls and no makeup.
Tyler, Will, Jake and I are sitting at a table shares with a few other girls on the dance team. Nina was one of them of course. She has something against me because I got the solo. I also got put lead in the group dance. I have no control over that so I couldn't do anything about it.
"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen and welcome to our awards ceremony!" The hosts says. We all clap. "Today we will be starting with our group dances. Now the top three teams will get to go to nationals." He says explaining the rules to us. "In fifth place with a score of 179/200 is Worth It from Mckinley High school." We clap as the captain of the team goes up to get the trophy they got. "In fourth place with a score of 187/200 is Flashlight from Timber High school." Their captain goes up and gets their trophy. "In third place with a score of 190/200 and going to nationals is...Numb from Bishop Ireton High school." Many girls cheer as they got third place. "The team with the second highest score being a 191/200 is Till I Find You from Abram High school!" The host says over the screaming girls as they hear their dance name announced. "Last but not least the dance with the highest score of a perfect 200/200 is..." The room fills with silence. "Centuries from Draughn High school!" Our team erupts in cheer and whistles as we hear we got a perfect score.
I see coach Miranda pointing at me telling me to go up and get the trophy for our team. I stand up and walk to the stage to grab our trophy, which was huge. "Congratulations on your team victory." The host says and hands me the trophy. I thank him and walk back to our table with it.
"Next is our Junior solo group. For this one only the top two get to go to nationals." The host says. So many people are surprised by this. "In second place with a score of 179/200 is dance number 48 Everything Is Lost." People cheer as a girl from Abram High stands up. She was really good, but she got a 179. She had 21 more points to go to get a perfect score. That's not good at all. I can only imagine what I got if she got a 179. She was amazing. "In first place with a perfect score of 200/200 is...dance number 81 Not About Angels." When he says my dance I was so surprised. I got first and a perfect score. Oh my.
I walk up to the stage and grab the trophy that they gave me. "Excellent job Mrs." One of the judges says to me. I thank her and walk back to my seat.
"Now our Senior solos." The host says. I sit down and put the trophy on the floor.
"You did it!" Jake says and grabs my hand. I give a small smile and interlock out fingers. I was looking at our hands when I look up and see Matthew staring back at me. He looks down then back up to the stage after he caught me looking at him. I shake it off and look back at the stage myself. That was until my phone buzzed lightly. I pick it up and my heart shattered.
"In second place with 196/200 points is dance number 194 So Far Away." A girl from Ireton stands up and goes to the stage. "In first place with 199/200 points is dance number 178 No One Else Like You." A girl from Mckinley stands up and runs to the stage.
