~Valeria's pov~
As I arrived home early that day, the exhaustion of a long workday weighed heavily on me, leaving me drained and weary. I stepped through the front door and the familiar scent of lavender and vanilla greeted me, instantly calming my frazzled nerves.
I kicked off my heels and entered the living room, greeted by the sight of James and Kilian's clothes strewn across the floor, the TV blaring loudly in the background.
"Men," I muttered under my breath, a mix of frustration and amusement evident in my voice, as I picked up the mess and groaned at the chaotic sight before me.
They must have been in a hurry to rush out earlier in the day. I walked up upstairs with their clothes in my hands, shaking my head in annoyance as I opened their bedroom door, looking at the clothes in my hands.
"You idiots, where were you guys at school? Wasn't your work starting today-" I questioned, my voice filled with a mix of confusion and concern, but my words trailed off as I froze, horrified at the unexpected scene unfolding before me.
Both of them were making out on the bed, absolutely naked.
"AHHH, OH MY GOD, DID YOU GUYS FORGET I LIVE HERE TOO?!" I shouted, throwing their clothes at their faces in frustration.
They scrambled to cover themselves, apologizing and laughing nervously.
"I need to bleach my eyes, oh my lord ," I muttered, turning on my heels.
"It's not our fault you didn't knock before entering!" James yelled back, still trying to gather his clothes. I rolled my eyes in disbelief, unable to shake the image from my mind.
"Val, we thought you were still at work!" Kilian blushed and tried to explain, but I wasn't having any of it.
"Just lock the door next time, okay? I don't need to see that," I replied, shaking my head in exasperation. I made a mental note to always knock before entering any room in my own house from now on.
As I stormed out of the room, I could hear their apologies fading into the background. I couldn't believe I had walked into that awkward situation.
It was going to take a while for me to erase that memory from my mind. I made my way to the kitchen, trying to distract myself by making a cup of tea.
That's when both of them came downstairs, their faces flushed with embarrassment as they tried to explain themselves.
"See, we just haven't had time with each other lately, and things got a little out of hand," James smirked, making Kilian turn red and hiss in embarrassment.
"Don't listen to this asshole.. He just got turned on by the sight of me dusting the fan. Can you believe that? I was just trying to clean the house, and then this happened," Kilian stammered as he avoided making eye contact with me.
I tried to stifle a laugh at their awkwardness, realizing that their explanation sounded more like a poorly-written sitcom script than a genuine apology.
"Well, I appreciate the effort to clean, but maybe next time use some self-control," I said with a teasing smile, hoping to ease the tension in the room. They both nodded sheepishly, clearly relieved that I wasn't angry with them.
"Anyways, why didn't you guys show up to work today?" I finally asked, trying to redirect the conversation to a more pressing matter. "And please don't tell me; it's because you wanted to try out new positions in bed," I added with a wink, causing them both to blush and stutter incoherently.
"No, not really. We got distracted, but the real reason we couldn't go was because we retrieved the video tape of Alton's accident ," Kilian finally admitted, a hint of guilt in his voice.
