~Valeria's pov~
"Nothing really, but anyway, before I forget, Ms. Rose sent you some paperwork," I said, handing him the papers with a bright, dimpled smile.
He immediately took the papers before yanking me inside his house, his concern evident on his face.
"What happened out there?" he demanded, as he quickly pushed aside my hair to see where the blood was coming from.
I couldn't help but swoon at his close proximity, his hands cupping my face gently.
"It's just a minor scrape, really, nothing to worry about," I reassured him, feeling a shiver run down my spine as his warm breath brushed against my skin.
"Just a scrape?! You're literally bleeding from your head!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with worry.
I couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction, amazed by his care and attentiveness.
"I'll be fine; don't worry about me," I said softly, grateful for his concern.
"Actually, never mind I like that you're worried about me. It shows that you care."
His eyes widened in surprise at my response, his hands dropping from my face as he immediately let go of me and stepped back.
"Why would I care about you? We barely even know each other," he replied, his tone defensive.
I chuckled.
"Okay then, Mr. Alton, I should probably head back now then-"
"No!" he interrupted, his voice filled with frustration. " You're still bleeding. Let me help you clean up and bandage that wound."
I grinned mischievously at him, enjoying the way he seemed taken aback by my response.
"Oh, so now you're showing concern for me? I thought we were still strangers." I teased, feeling a sense of satisfaction in seeing the surprise in his expression.
"Well, I may not know you well, but that doesn't mean I can't show a little kindness," he replied, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
"Ok, then, Mr. Alton, show me what you've got," I said, raising an eyebrow in challenge.
He chuckled softly before grabbing a first aid kit from a nearby shelf and motioning for me to sit on the couch.
I sat down eagerly, my heart racing with excitement at the prospect of his care and attention.
As he leaned close to me, I could feel his warmth and smell his faint cologne as he cleaned up the blood from my face.
His touch was gentle, yet purposeful, causing a shiver to run down my spine. With each dab of the antiseptic wipe, I couldn't help but admire the way his eyes focused intently on his task.
And yet, despite the pain and discomfort, my eyes were drawn to his lips. The way they moved as he spoke softly to reassure me, the way they curled into a smile when he noticed me watching him.
They were full and inviting, making me want to kiss him at that very moment.
"So, will you not tell me how you got hurt so badly ?" He asked, his voice breaking through my wandering thoughts.
I couldn't help but blush at being caught staring at his lips, unsure of how to respond to his question. But before I could gather my wits, he leaned in closer, his lips mere inches from mine.
"You should be careful, Val " he said as he wiped the blood off my head, His touch was gentle and comforting.
I could feel my heart racing as I looked into his eyes, so full of concern and kindness.
