~Alton's pov~

Today was a Sunday morning, and the sun was shining brightly through the curtains of my living room. The soft chirping of birds outside added to the peaceful atmosphere, making me feel content and at ease.

I inhaled deeply, savoring the hints of caramel and chocolate in my freshly brewed coffee. The scent instantly awakened my senses, filling me with warmth and comfort.

With a smile on my face, I took a sip of the hot beverage, relishing the familiar taste that never failed to bring me joy. I knew it was going to be a good day.

I knew that I could fully relax and enjoy my well-deserved day off. With all my paperwork completed early, I could spend the day doing things that brought me happiness and fulfillment.

The tranquility of the morning only added to my sense of contentment, and I couldn't help but be grateful for moments like this. As I settled onto the couch, the soft click of the TV remote in my hand signaled the start of my leisurely morning.

Flipping through channels, I stumbled upon a heartwarming movie that resonated with the warmth in my heart.

With each sip of coffee, I felt more and more at ease, the worries of the week melting away.

As the show ended, I mindlessly switched through other channels, looking for something else to watch. That's when a news channel caught my eye.

The headline scrolling across the screen immediately grabbed my attention.

IS THE VIPER REALLY DEAD?

Shocked, I sat up straighter, fully focused on the breaking news.

This morning, the police station received a video of Viper, an infamous criminal and wanted fugitive, shooting herself with a gun.

The footage was graphic and horrifying, with the sound of the gunshot ringing in my ears.

Tears ran down my eyes as I watched the news unfold.

N-NO, NO, THIS CAN'T BE POSSIBLE, NO! WHY WOULD SHE DO THAT?!

I immediately picked up my phone and called Valeria. My hands were shaking as I waited for her to pick up, needing to hear her voice. But she didn't pick up.

My heart sank as the reality of the situation hit me. Was it true? Was Valeria really gone? I tried calling her again and again, desperate for any sign of life.

But each time, it went straight to voicemail. The shock turned to grief as I realized that she might really be dead, just like the news had reported.

The police investigated the scene where she was found, removing the viper's mask that concealed her true identity.

I froze in disbelief, my mind unable to process the news. I anxiously prayed to God that it wasn't Valeria, that this cruel twist of fate was just a mistake.

My heart raced as I watched the TV screen, hoping that it wasn't true. The uncertainty and fear crept in as I dialed her number once again, desperate for a glimmer of hope.

The suspense was unbearable as I waited for the footage to reveal who was underneath the mask of the Viper.

My heart pounded erratically as the image of a stranger flashed on the screen. I fell to the ground in relief, tears streaming down my face as the truth sank in.

It wasn't Valeria after all. She was safe, unharmed, and I let out a sob of gratitude. The weight that had been crushing my chest lifted, and I whispered a prayer of thanks to God above.
