Y/n's pov
Chiron looked at everyone of us.
"As we all know, a few months ago arrived L/n Y/n, the daughter of Filos, a hidden daughter of Cronos.", he cleared his throat before speaking again.
"Filos, was in fact a goddess of friendship and trust, though everyone thought she was not alive anymore during the fight of her and the worst basilisk from the underworld. Hades sent the monster because of failure i negotiations between Underworld and Earth. So we now know, Filos is alive. Mr D. has announced a quest consisting of three people. Y/n, Luke and Nico. They will retrieve Filos to Olympus." We nodded.
"The quest shall begin in two days. Prepare well."
Nico's pov ( Oh you just waited for it ;) )
I looked to Chiron with a pleading look, but he as always, ignored it. I sighted and went to my cabin. I sat on my bed and thought about...
Someone knocked on the door and before I declined, the person walked in. Speak of the devil, Y/n was there.
"What do you want?"
"I want to settle this. You don't need to go if you don't want to. I can ask Chi-"
"Stop being so friendly, L/n. Not even your friendship can save me from the hell I will enter. In fact, for your favor only, your power is useless.", I interrupted her. She stood there quiet until her hands started shaking. Her e/c eyes were dull and they stared in one dot. A few tears were shed, and she spoke the words I wasn't prepared to accept.
"Do you really think I like to be this way? Do you really think it is easy to play the cupid and not loving someone yourself? Do you really think that I trust myself? If you do... you are dead wrong Di Angelo. Just because I am the daugher of friendship and trust, doesn't mean I trust and I... have friends." She ran out of the cabin, as quick as a rabbit. I realized that what I have said was harsh. A part of me wanted to apologize, but my legs didn't move. I just sat there, in a complete silence.
~ Two days later ~

Y/n's pov
I brushed my hair and looked at the reflection in the mirror. It is the first day of my quest. I still haven't talked to Nico after what happened, yet the wound is still fresh. I picked up the orange bag from the floor and went outside. The day was normal, no rain, strawberries growing and kids fighting.
'Just as the first day, though there is a 91 percent chance I will never see this place again.', I thought as I grabbed a fanta can and drank it. The food was tastier than past few months.
"When campers go on quests, the food is prepared with more care.", Luke said while smirking, as if he was reading my mind.
"I see." We started a conversation about a quest until Nico came. ( I am cracking up right now XD ) He kept his usual pokerface and his raven hair. ( Get dat reference? No? Okai den... )
When I looked at him, his head was down. I didn't need to use my powers to know that he feels regret. However, an unusual emotion was felt on Luke. It seemed like excitement, or even... happiness? Before I could say anything, Chiron trotted to us. He nodded and pointed to the entrance. I inhaled as the three of us were inching away from the camp every second.
"So Y/n, do you have any ideas where could your mother is?" I though for a while before answering.
''Not really. The last time I saw her, she was taken by a creature. Until now, I had no idea she was alive.", I answered while sharpening my silver knife.
"Oh. I heard that you saved Clarisse. From what exacly?"
"When we were playing catch the flag I overheard a conversation between her and a very familiar voice. The person sprinted back and I reached out to Clarisse before she fell." Luke seemed quite focused in my words and Nico didn't show any expression at all. For a moment I thought I saw something in his eyes, but I decided to brush it off.
"So were exacly are we going now?"
"Isn't it obvious, marshmallow? Your house.", Luke answered.
'What kind of a nickname us marshmallow!?', I thought as we walked in the direction of a familiar peach colored house.
~ T.S. ~
"Is your dad here?", Nico asked, which suprised me a bit.
"I do not even know. After mom's 'death' he moved out to his dead parents' house they planned to sell. He sometimes visited me, I even gave him the spare keys ti enter. I suppose he has gone insane by now...", I whispered the last sentence so quietly I doubted anyone could have heard. I unzipped my bag and rummaged through it until I heard a metal thing shaking. I reached out and the keys were there. As I unlocked the doorI thought about my mother. Where is she? What if she really is dead and some god fooled with us? What if my eternal wish to see her again will be blown away again? I entered the room, only to be greeted by... nothing. Empty hall. I sighted and put the key in the little purple japanese pot. Old habit I used to do after mom's disappear. The house was a lot more cold than it used to be. The dust was everywhere and the curtains were on the windows, protecting the room from any ray of sunshine. Nico leaned on the wall and Luke sat on the couch.
"We should look for sighs of any contacts my mother had with any god-alike creatures. Like letters sealed in gold, unordinary things, understood?" They nodded their heads in agreement.
"I will check my mother's room." As much as I hated to think of it, I never was in my mom's room. Dad always kept me from doing it, saying her room was only for her to be in. After the incident I thought it'd be a peace harmer to go there. So I just avoided the room, at all costs.
'Did he even know she was a goddess?'. The door was suprisingly unlocked and I opened it. The room was actually the brightest in the whole house. The nolstalgic scent of lavander filled my nose. The walls were painted in baby blue and the floor was wooden, with a green carpet over it. There was a work desk on the corner of mother's room. A vase with lavanders was on it. The lavanders were suprisingly, still as fresh as daisies which made my suspect rose. There were a few family photos on the desk too. I opened the first drawer and in it were letters. Many...many...letters. I opened the first one.
Dear sister,
I must inform you that the item is well secured. We all hope for your arrival. Best of wishes,
Your friend.
The item?
Dear sister,
Do not worry, we are solving the problem with the item. Sincerely,
Your Friend.
I continued to read letters until the earliest one.
Dear sister,
You must know that I am very sorry for my behavior few years ago. I wish you a happy life there, on the ground, right above your other friend. Sincerely,
Your F-
A loud scream was heard outside. I opened the window and jumped out of it. I saw Nico lying with a bleeding leg and my father hitting Luke.
"Stop, now!", I said. As I expected, my father turned around and pulled me into a hug. "Why did you hurt them?"
"The... boy...", he pointed to Luke. He...turned insane.
"We better get out of here."
"Why did you leave?" I helped Nico stand up and I started walking away. I decided to stop, and I turned around.
"And why did you keep an important secret for several years?"
- T.S. -
"Thank you and we hope you enjoy your stay.", said the blond woman and gave us keys to our apartment. I nodded and since Nico's leg was still in a bad condition, we took the elevator to the third floor.
"Number 8...9...10...there it is. 11.", I counted and unlocked the door. The room was clean, it had two single beds, one bed in one corner, and the other one in other. In the middle was a huge king sized bed and between the beds were nightstands along with purple lamps. I put the key in my pocket as Luke helped Nico to lie on the king sized bed. I sighted.
"Did you find anything and what actually happened?", I asked.
"When we seperated, I went to the garden to search. In the fountain appeared Chiron and said that he contacted the gods. None of them know where your mom is. Your father then saw Nico and hurt him badly, just when you came, he tried to attack me." I looked at him, carefully. I saw that he hid something from me, but I decided not to question it. Nico stared at Luke, shocked.
"He still is in deep shock, so he temporarely lost his ability to speak and attack." I stood up and grabbed a couple of tissues. I pressed them onto the wound. After a few minutes the wound disappeared and I let go of the tissue. I threw it in a pink bin next to the nightstand.
"Well, if it helps, I think I know where to go." My eyes widened as he explained.
~ The next morning ~
Nico recovered so we checked out of the hotel as Luke leaded us to the place he thinks is my mother.
Luke's pov
Fortunately, Nico doesn't remember a thing. Even if he did, he wouldn't be able to speak up and babble everything to Y/n. I will make that precious marshmallow fully mine.
Y/n's pov
Nico seems better although I can see deep confusion in his eyes, as he forgot something and he tries to remember it. I shrugged it off and continued to walk as Luke lead the way. He entered a cafe that was not much crowded, only a few people and a bartender. The doorbell rang as we went inside and all eyes were on us. Luke just walked in like it is normal for him and talked to the bartender. He whispered something in his ear and the 43 year old man nodded. Luke gestured for us to come near him. I suddenly felt the need to drink something. As I saw the look on Luke and Nico's face, they looked thirsty as well. We haven't brought much nectar, on the way to the hotel we drank it all. The bartender mixed three drinks. I was too thirsty to think, I just took the glass and drank the whole liquid in 3 seconds. Nico did it too. Luke didn't drink it, just smirked at the two of us. The look in his eyes... revenge...and success of....betrayal....
