chapter viii:
my lady,
a woman of curiosity.

up and down a lot,
i can't control myself.

ciel wasn't surprised when the news showcase the nearly daily occurrence of another death; this time, it was a little different than usual. instead of the jack the ripper case being on the news, it was overshadowed by the possible returned of 'lady of the night', the woman that has been haunting london for a period.

the gruesome headless body left to rot just right next to the infamous big ben; not only was his head missing, but so were his fingers — gone, vanished and no where to be seen.

the identity of the man hasn't been disclosed due to the nature of the case and he's just a doe in the lineups of many doe's. despite the intriguing aspect of the supposed myth of this lady, ciel's focus must remain on jack the ripper.

'annie shepherman... another whitechapel prostitute and at east-end, again. if not the viscount.. then who ?' ciel thought to himself, reading the contents of the newspaper and sips on his tea; the flavours couldn't drown the bitterness on his tongue.

"sebastian, narrow down the list and organised it for me" ciel muttered audibly, setting the newspaper down. sebastian bows, a neutral look on his face as he hears about another death, "your humble servant understands".

sebastian exits the room as ciel flips back onto the biggest topic of the day; the death of a mysterious man, located no where near white chapel but oddly enough, the body was discovered near the big ben.

placing the teacup down, ciel's brows furrowed as he rubs his forehead — 'focus, focus..'. he sighs loudly and leans back against the chair, he needs some time to think through the lists of possible suspects again.

and in those time, he expects the people of london not to wander around late at night, but judging the incompetence of some people; he's not surprised if more people die.

but he won't let their deaths go to waste.

he'll solve both.

soon.

asmo is kneeling down while staring at the floor, ignoring lucifer's complaints about him killing a man when obviously the man wasn't innocent — from his point of view anyway.

his intuition is never ever wrong, the stars and universe agrees with him so why can't lucifer understands that a man staring at you, who was dressed in a gorgeous red gown, was not a creep ?! sure, he was a guard or whatever, but that doesn't excused his lingering eyes.

though what's even more insulting wasn't lucifer yelling at him no, it's mammon laughing at him. the demon is seated near the window, eating some grapes with a glass of wine in his hand and that damn smirk, gosh, asmo just wants to kick him square in the face.
