"So I texted Susannah and the Fisher's and Conklin's are going to come over for dinner at 6 p.m. I want you to dress nice because I'm gonna make fancy food and I want to make a good impression. I think me and Susannah could be good friends!" My mom exclaims over the phone. "Alright, I'm excited to meet that Belly girl," I tell her. We say goodbye and I hang up first. I check the time on my phone, 3:45 p.m.
I'm already around for the day but I'm wearing leggings and an old band t-shirt so I decide to change now. I walk over to my closet deciding on what to wear. I pick out a light blue mini skirt and a white short sleeve bodysuit with little flowers on it. I pair it with my white platform converse. I go over to my vintage vanity and grab bobby pins to pin back two little pieces of hair. I put in chunky gold hoop earrings and clasp on a gold chain with a little flower charm that's white and pearlescent.
I try to touch up my makeup, because I was currently wearing only mascara. I put on a tiny bit of concealer and some light pink blush. I use some eyebrow gel and apply another layer of mascara. I grab my pink Dior lipgloss and apply just enough to finish the look. I sit down on my bed and Charlie jumps onto my lap. I watch Gilmore Girls to pass the time.
I hear my mom come home and I decide to help her cook. I walk down the stairs with Charlie following behind me and walk into the kitchen. "I'm going to make chicken parmesan Alfredo pasta with Caesar side salads," she tells me. "My favorite I tell her as I grab a pot to boil water. Charlie barks at my feet so I pick her up. "And that dog cannot be in the dining room at all while they're over," she tells me.
"What? It's not like she's gonna bite someone," I argue. "You never know, and what if one of them is allergic to dogs?" she asks. I sigh and give up my case. "You don't have to lock her in her kennel or anything just put her in your room with her food and water and lock the door," she tells me. "Okay," I respond.

6 p.m. *Ding* me and mom stand up as we hear the doorbell. Mom invites them all inside and shows them to the dining room. My mom sits at one head of the table and Susannah sits at the other. On one side of the table is Laurel, Steven, and Belly. On the other is me, Jeremiah, and Conrad. I didn't choose to sit by Jeremiah, not that it's a bad thing. It just ended up that way.
There's small talk at the table for most of the time. My mom asking the kids about their lives and asking Laurel and Susannah what they do for work and things like that. Laurel turns her attention to me. "Lilith do you play any sports?" she asks. "I'm on the swim team, and I used to do track but I quit to focus on my grades," I tell her.
The dinner was slightly awkward but when it's over I'm still sad I didn't get to know Belly better. As soon as they leave I run up the stairs to go check on Charlie. "Hi baby," I say as I open the door. She spins at my feet and I pick her up and she kisses my face. It's barely 8 p.m so I decide to go for a little swim. I put on a white bikini that has green outlined flowers on it. If you can't tell, I love flowers.
I take off all of my makeup and then take my hair down and brush it. I grab Charlie and walk downstairs to the back door. "Swim?" My mom asks from the living room. "Yeah," I respond. I open the back door and go out to the pull. I put Charlie down and let her roam because our back yard is fenced in. I immediately dove into the deep end and do a few laps. I pop my head out of the water and notice someone standing outside of the fence.
I get scared at first and then I realize it's a girl. It's Belly. "Hi," she says and waves. "Hey?" I ask and giggle. "I heard you out here so I decided to come over to ask you something," she says. I nod in response. "So all of the boys ditched me tonight and went to a bonfire, do you wanna go to the bonfire with me?" she asks. "Sure but why did they ditch you? Was it a good reason?" I ask.
"They said I was too young but I'm 15, almost 16. Everyone my age goes to parties," she states her case. "Okay," I say and get out of the pool. "I have to change, do you want to come to my room?" I ask her. She nods in response so I open the gate and let her in. "Charlie!" I call out. She comes running to me and she follows me and Belly inside. "Mom, me and Belly are going to go to a bonfire, I'm going to get changed," I yell not knowing where she is. "Okay!" I hear from the living room.
Me, Belly, and Charlie walk up the stairs and to my room. Belly walks into my room and is immediately amazed. "Oh my god you're so cool," she exclaims. My room is pretty cool. My grandma let me get whatever I wanted when we moved in, and mom let me pick my room first.
My walls are white, my carpet is grey, and the ceiling is angled upwards. I have a queen sized bed with an antique bed frame. My bed sheets are light blue and my duvet and pillowcases are white with little blue flowers. I have a window seat with a big light blue cushion to match my bed. It has a few cute throw pillows and a big fluffy white blanket. The window itself has little stained glass designs. There are drawers underneath the window seat where I store some of my clothes. There are big book shelves on both sides of the window seat that are filled with books. Beneath those are more drawers where I store the rest of my clothes. I have a brown vintage vanity that my grandfather gave me as a 16th birthday gift. The drawers are filled with makeup and hair stuff. I have a white desk with a white fluffy rolly chair where I do all of my schoolwork. My walls have many posters but they're not overwhelming. Mainly vintage band posters, Taylor Swift posters, and posters of my favorite shows and movies like Gilmore Girls and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
