All over the planet people were being moved to buildings and structures that were easy for the salamanders to protect while other legions got ready for fighting on the ground.
Up above most of the cruisers repositioned to the one side of the planet in a wall of firepower. Every one on the ground were running around trying to get in position to either fight or protect, the planet military was put to use as support for the Space Marines as there weapons would not be sufficient for damaging the enemy.
Everyone got in position and was waiting for them to show, as they got closer a count down was going down and when it hit 0 the fireing of the cruisers was heard.
The firing went on for a long time one after another, the civilians looking around at each other, some tried comforting each other but the atmosphere of fear was to thick to ignore. Outside the bunker the Space Marine groups waited in there positions for the fight on the ground.
Above the planet the enemy got closer and closer, pushing through the bombardment of fire."What is the status of the enemy." a firm feminine voice echoed the bridge room.
"We've destroyed 25% and increasing comander."
"Alright prepare to engage the next phase and alert the Space Marines."
As the Space Marines got the weapons ready and talk strategies with each other, they were alerted that the second phase began. As they were alerted the cruisers started breaking formation and engaging the enemy fleet.
With blast after blast the cruisers were having a rough time making sure they didn't explode, or get border, but all was going according to plan. The cruisers split the enemy forces apart, letting some go through and descend to the planet were the Space Marines and their support await for their turn in the fight.
One of the Salamanders walked the a Space Marine who had a different look the the Salamander, he had alot of symbol on him and he even wore fur and teeth maybe? He was reading his axes then the Salamander spoke "When you fight make sure you're not near the shelter."
He stood up and look the Salamander dead in the eyes "Don't tell me how or were to fight, besides we'd rather be far out in the middle of the Fight."
