Xiao Zhan arrived home with a bandage covering his cheek, a trip to the hospital confirmed that it was just swollen and nothing more serious. It was painful, though, and he gritted his teeth to endure the discomfort.

Standing at his front door, he made a conscious effort to hide any signs of pain from his face. He gently massaged his cheeks to maintain his composure, ensuring that his two lovers wouldn't immediately notice the bandage on his cheek.

As he pushed the door open, two wide grins welcomed him but stopped midway when they noticed the bandage on his face.

Despite the omega trying to cover it all up with a smile, they couldn't help but notice. Worry instantly crept on their faces as they approached him, gently cupping his face to inspect his swollen cheeks.

"What happened?" they both asked in unison.

Xiao Zhan maintained his smile despite the pain when the muscles on his face moved.

"I accidentally tripped," he lied, looking away to try to hide the lie between his teeth.

The two frowned, looking at each other in understanding. They were not one bit convinced by his lie, a reason too cliche and overused to be believable.

They both sighed, their expressions softened as they each placed a comforting hand on Xiao Zhan's waist and led him inside.

"You know we can sense your distress through the pheromones you're emitting, right?" Yibo commented, a gentle smile on his face.

Xiao Zhan was caught off guard, looking up at the older alpha with wide eyes. He didn't realize he'd been giving off distressing pheromones all along.

"We know we told you that we'd let you decide when to open up to us, but you're getting worse. What is it? Tell us, what's the matter, please?" Xie Yi implored.

Xiao Zhan felt guilty, his heart sinking as he realized how worried his two alphas had been for him. He decided that he couldn't keep his problems from them any longer.

He sighed almost silently and made a mental note that this time, he'd tell them. "I'm sorry," he said to both of them. "Will you hear me out?" he asked, looking hopefully at them.

The two broke into smiles, their hearts filled with joy that their omega was finally ready to open up to them.

They sat together in the living room, their dinner set on the coffee table by the two alphas. They decided to talk about what happened to his cheeks later after dinner when they all settled and were comfortable. Then they enjoyed their meal.

After eating, the three of them changed into their comfortable clothes, specifically matching pajamas that the two alphas had bought on the way to Xiao Zhan's penthouse.

They settled in the living room, getting comfortable on the sofa bed under the soft fabric of a massive blanket that enveloped their bodies together. The cozy atmosphere of the room made it the perfect setting for a heartfelt conversation.

"So..." the younger alpha began, his eyes filled with concern as he looked at the omega.

Xiao Zhan flinched, his gaze dropping to the floor as he collected his thoughts.

Swallowing the lump in his throat, he finally met the gaze of his two alphas. "Well, about my swollen cheeks," he spoke softly.

The two alphas watched him intently, waiting for him to continue.

"I made my father angry," he started.

The two frowned in unison. "But that doesn't mean he should have slapped you in the face!" Xie Yi exclaimed, his annoyance evident.

Xiao Zhan immediately shook his head. "No, it was my fault that he got angry," he paused, guilt filling his eyes. "I didn't follow what he told me to do," he admitted, his voice filled with shame.

The two alphas' brows furrowed even more, their anger directed at Xiao Zhan's father for making him feel this way. They wanted to confront his father, but they knew they couldn't do that, given that he was still their omega's father.

They both sighed, releasing comforting pheromones to calm the omega. "It's okay. Whatever the reason your father got angry at you, it wasn't your fault," Xie Yi reassured him.

Yibo added, "We're all human, love. We all make mistakes. He should have reprimanded you and given you guidance instead of resorting to violence." and wiped the tears that Xiao Zhan didn't notice that were trickling down his cheeks.

Xiao Zhan began to sob, his tears finally flowing freely. He leaned into their embrace, feeling their warmth and comfort.

The twins held him close, allowing him to cry instead of stopping him, and emitted soothing pheromones to dispel the sour scent of distress.

The two alphas watched as the omega sobbed, their hearts aching with each heart-wrenching cry. It was excruciating to witness him in such agony, with fat tears streaming down his beautiful face, smudging his complexion.

Despite the anguish of hearing his cries, they stood by him, offering comfort and solace, until the omega eventually cried himself to sleep. When the room fell silent, they decided to carry him to his bedroom.

Gently, the older alpha picked up Xiao Zhan, while Xie Yi folded the blanket and followed his twin to the bedroom. Yibo carefully placed the omega on the bed and settled beside him, ensuring he was warm and comfortable. The younger alpha joined them, lying on the other side of their beloved omega.

Together, they watched over him with fondness, pondering the mysteries of his past. They couldn't help but wonder about the household in which he was raised, and what hardships he might have endured growing up.

"Despite his sweet and caring nature, what challenges did he face at home?" Xie Yi whispered, gently brushing a strand of hair from Xiao Zhan's forehead.

Yibo echoed his sentiments, softly caressing the omega's cheek. "How different would his life have been if we had known him since childhood?"

In unison, they sighed, frustrated by the lack of answers to their questions. "Sleep well, my love," Yibo murmured, placing a tender kiss on the omega's forehead. Xie Yi followed suit, and they finally settled down.

The omega responded with a soft, contented hum, a serene smile gracing his sleeping face. Even in slumber, he found solace and comfort, knowing he was safe and loved with his two protective alphas beside him.
