Welcome To Mondstat

I was being tossed around like I was in a washing machine inside a purple vortex, screaming my head off. I didn't know how long I was in there for, but it felt like an eternity. 

The vortex opened and I somehow went through the hole. I screamed louder as I fell. This is it, I'm gonna die. This is how I die.

The wind was knocked out of me as I landed in the grass. I don't know if I should be dead or seriously injured. I either under or overestimate the strength of the human body. Maybe a bit of both.

I winced in pain as I got up, looking around. It was daytime, and I was outside in an open, grassy, space with some mountains in the distance. Everything was bright and colorful. It looked very familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. 

"Where am I?" I asked myself.

I walked forward, trying to figure out where I was. I know I've seen this place before, but I don't know where. I wasn't looking where I was going and bumped into a tree. 

Just then, I heard snarling. I looked up and saw a group of hairy horned creatures with clubs and masks. They were slowly walking towards me. I froze, not knowing what to do. 

I immediately knew what they were. Hilichurls. But that's impossible, they're not real! They only exist in… Genshin Impact. 

I did the first thing I thought of and sprinted away. I could hear the hilichurls right behind me. I probably made the wrong choice. 

This isn't happening! This isn't happening! What is even going on?!

I tripped and fell into a small ditch, "Ow…" I sat down and hugged my knees. Hopefully the hilichurls won't find me here. As I tried to catch my breath, I felt something in my pocket. I took it out and it was the rock. The rock that crashed into my apartment. Why do I have this? 

I heard growling. Uh oh.

I slowly looked up and the hilichurls were right above me, weapons drawn. I moved out of the way before they could hit me. I tried to climb out of the ditch, but my lack of upper body strength wasn't helping. Just as I thought I was a goner, I heard arrows being fired.

I turned around and saw a woman with long brown hair fighting the hilichurls with a bow and arrow. She was wearing a brown and white shirt with a red jacket, red stockings and white thigh-high boots. She had a big red ribbon in her hair with the ends up to look like bunny ears.

I've seen her before… Amber? Am I in Genshin Impact right now?!

I watched as Amber fought the hilichurls with ease. Each time she killed a hilichurl, it disappeared like burning paper.

When the last hilichurl was gone, Amber turned to me, "Are you ok?"

It took me a second to realize I was staring with my jaw dropped. I brought myself back to earth and said, "Uh- yeah, I'm ok. How did you find me?"

"I was out gliding and I heard what sounded like hilichurls. Didn't think I'd run into you." Amber explained.

"Thanks for saving me." I said.

"Anytime." She held her hand out to me, "I'm Amber, knight of Favonious."

I glanced at her hand and took it, "I'm Fabi."

Amber firmly shook my hand, "Nice to meet you. Do you want me to escort you home in case we run into trouble?"

"I, uh… actually don't have anywhere to go. I'm not from around here."

Amber looked confused for a second before saying, "Oh, so you're a traveler?"

"Yeah, pretty much."

"No worries. This isn't the first time I've met a traveler. Let's take you to Grand Master Jean. She can help." She climbed out of the ditch before helping me out, "Let's go. Mondstat isn't far from here."
