4. Suspicion.

It was the next morning, Taehyung woke up extra early that day and decided to go out for a walk.

He decided to wear a big hoodie that engulfed his whole body as it was pretty chilly outside.

Taehyung went out and walked on the sidewalks, stepping on the dry leaves intentionally.

This is the kind of peace Taehyung wished for everyday.

Jeongguk hummed while he cooked food for two.

He had slept the whole day yesterday after settling down into the apartment, even skipping his dinner.

So he was pretty hungry when he woke up in the morning and chose to cook.

He was standing in the kitchen in his college fit, with an apron on as he didn't wanna get them any dirty.

Taehyung wasn't around the apartment, so he guessed that he might have gone out for a walk.

An hour passed, Jeongguk was already done with his breakfast and ready to go out.

But Taehyung never made it to the breakfast. He even didn't come back.

Jeongguk sighed and made his way out, taking his jacket with him while doing so.

He was walking in the parking lot towards his car when he saw a guy with a big hoodie walking in.

"Taehyung? Is that you?", he voiced out and the mentioned man stopped in his tracks.

"Jeongguk? Hi.", Taehyung said standing in front of Jeongguk.

"Hii. Where were you all this time? I was waiting for you!"

"You...were waiting for me?", Taehyung asked confused.

"Yeah, I actually made breakfast for us! But you didn't show up, so I ate alone and left yours untouched in the fridge.", Jeongguk said with a pout.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, Jeongguk. I-I'm really very sorry-", Taehyung was clearly very scared at that moment, almost as if like he has committed some sort of crime.

"Woah—calm down, Tae. It's fine, it was my fault that I didn't inform you beforehand. It's not your place to apologise. I'm the one who should be apologizing if even. So", Jeongguk took a deep breath and smiled sweetly, "I'm sorry, Kim Taehyung."

Taehyung who had been looking down at his shoes all this time finally looked up forgetting that he was supposed to not show his face to anyone.

"No...don't apologise. It's not your fault...I'll make sure to eat what you made for us! And I'll appreciate your cooking skills once I'm done as well.", he smiled.

"Taehyungie hyung, what happened to your lips?", Jeongguk frowned confused and worried.

Taehyung gasped at the realisation and covered his mouth with his hand, "it's n-nothing...I-I..uh..I was out for a walk you see... I tripped over something and scratched my lips on the ground really harsh, yeah. Yeah. I'm clumsy sometimes."

"You can't even lie, Taehyung. Lemme know whenever you're ready to spill the truth, honey. I'll be all ears for you.", Jeonggukie patted Taehyung's shoulder and left in his car for uni.

Leaving a speechless Taehyung behind.

"Why?", Taehyung mumbled to himself as he made his way back to his apartment.

Taehyung looked at his reflection in the mirror, his bruise looked brutally painful.

"I can't meet anybody while looking like this...if they see my bruised lips, they'll surely ask me a lot of questions!! And Jimin might get in trouble for beating the shit out of Jun.", Taehyung sighed and made a pouty face as he continued, "Guess I'll take a day off today".
