9. I like you.

"Taehyung-ah, we can't really do much about it, son. You're fully aware that you're wanted here.", Taehyung's mother said over the call.

"Mom, can you really not do anything about it?", Taehyung asked anxiously.

"Even your dad can't do anything about it, my son. Please just do it this once, okay? Once you get married to Lee Jun, you wouldn't have to attend any of these family gatherings since you would be living with Jun abroad. So just put up a smile and do it this once, oki?"

Taehyung sighed upon hearing her mother's word and muttered a small 'ok' before cutting the call.

"No, Jimin. I can't ditch this gathering. It's really important."

"You say that ALL the time, Tae. This is just fuckin' stupid. You don't love that incompetent abuser-so why do you have to put up with him? It boils my blood really.", Jimin said angrily but calming down once his boyfriend pats him on his head.

"What's getting my love all worked up, huh?", Yoongi asked joining the conversation between the two.

"You're late, hyung.", Namjoon said once Yoongi had settled down under the tree they all shared.

"Had to show Jeongguk his art class. He still hasn't figured out all the hallways so yeah."

"Oh, did you say Kookie?", Taehyung asked curiously, "he has art?"

"Yup, Tae. You didn't ask him about his schedule?", Yoongi asked while resting his head comfortably on Jimin's shoulder.

"Nah, I didn't get a chance."

"Anyways, back to the topic.", Hoseok clapped his hands and gathered everyone's attention, "Tae, continue."

"Okay, so, it's a family dinner tomorrow. My family and Jun's family. I don't wanna be there-y'all know why. But mum and dad can't do anything about it and says that I HAVE to be there.", Taehyung mentioned and everybody nodded their head in unison.

"Is that what was getting Chim all worked up?", Yoongi asked, still a little worried about his boyfriend.

"Yup!", Jimin answered shyly.

"Jiminie.", Yoongi said and took Jimin onto his lap, patting his head, he softly whispered, "Don't get all worked up, okay? That would make Tae to worry too.", and he kissed his cheek to which Jimin pecked his lips and nodded.

"Get a room, bitches.", Hoseok said and made gagging sounds jokingly.

"Shut up, Hobi.", Yoongi muttered.

"So, Taehyung, what happens if you don't go?", Jin asked.

"I die.", Taehyung replied.

"Fuck that.", Jin said.

"Who's the main problem?", Jin asked once again.

"Lee Jun.", Taehyung answered calmly.

"Whore.", Hoseok added to his name which made everybody giggle, including Taehyung.

"Are you sure that he'll come?", Jin asked.

"Well, after that mall incident thing which I told you about - I'm sure he'll come.", Taehyung anxiously answered.

"Is there any way you can get out of there as soon as possible?", Namjoon asked Taehyung.

"I mean, I could do something about it. I'm just really nervous. Jun hasn't texted me anything about the gathering like he usually does, so I'm kinda assuming that he's mad at me for some reason.", Taehyung completed with a sad pout.

"Aw baby, it's not your fault. You're literally a sweetheart, he's stupid if he gets mad at you for no reason. And as much as I wanna just poke his eyes with a fuckin' spatula, I can't really do anything about it because he's in a relationship with you. You have to take a step back and need to stand up for yourself.", Jin said patting Taehyung's head.

"Yup, he's right. You don't love him...and all he ever does is abuse you. You need to get out of this toxic relationship, TaeTae.", Namjoon said passing Taehyung his matcha.

"Thank you. And I know, I understand what you guys are saying. And I'm trying as well, but I can't just ditch him. His family is business partners with dad's company. And that's the biggest reason they're setting me up with him. For the sake of their business."

"Your parents are at fault too. Why can't they just understand?", Jimin bugged in.

"They never understand anything until something profits 'em. Like for fuck's sake, parents.", Taehyung said shaking his head disappointed.

"Joonie hyung..", Jeongguk smiled at Namjoon who sat next to him in his car.

They were currently in Jeongguk's car-he was dropping Namjoon off on his way back home.

"Yes, Jeongguk?", he replied sweetly.

"Is Taehyung in a relationship?"

"Yeah, he is.", Namjoon was shocked by the sudden question but was intrigued as to why the younger suddenly asked him a question out of the blue.

Jeongguk kept his gaze focused on the road as he continued to inquire, "Is it an abusive and toxic one?"

Oh how Jeongguk wished that Namjoon would say no.

"Yes.", Namjoon replied shortly after.

"Oh."

"Why do you ask ggukie?", Namjoon questioned.

"Do you like him?", he added.

"I-hyung..", Jeongguk contemplated what to say next. Honestly, he didn't himself know why he felt such a strong connection with Taehyung. Did he like Taehyung? Well, nowadays, all that he can think about is Taehyung. It's like the elder has put a spell on him and he just can't help but fall for the elder...he wants to protect him and care for him...and maybe lov-

"I like Taehyung.", Jeongguk answered once they had reached Namjoon's destination.

He looked at Namjoon who just looked back at him with a soft smile and sweet aura.

"I trust you, kookie.", Namjoon said and walked out of the car, waving a bye at Jeongguk and walked away.

"What does he mean by that?", Jeongguk muttered to himself and started the drive again, this time to reach his very own destination, Taehyung's heart, "I like you, Kim Taehyung.", he smiled to himself and focused his gaze on the path that lays ahead.
