Tesla didn't know what he had done to change her expression like that, but he just smiled at her.

"I'm Nikola Tesla! It's a pleasure to meet you!"

The woman blushed.  She didn't even think about how strange her actions might seem.

"Uh… nice to meet you…"

"So why are you interested in this book?"  He asked.

Ahri looked around uncertainly.  There was no one close around the two of them.  She removed her hood, revealing her appearance;  she had a delicate face with claw marks on her cheeks, her eyes were a bright gold, and her hair was dark.  On top of her head were two fox ears.

Tesla's eyes widened.  Seconds later, "Do you have human ears? Do you have a keen sense of smell? Wait, do you have a tail?"  Each question came with a bigger smile.

Ahri placed her index finger on her lips and lowered her head.  Her ears lowered together.

The man lowered his tone and approached her, "Do you feel pleasure when being caressed?"  He had no limits when he wanted to discover something.

Ahri had a look of disbelief and blushed heavily.  "What-"

"Can I test it?"  He raised his hand.

The woman quickly pulled herself away, blushing, "Wait! Wait… Let's calm down a little, okay?"  She said with a crooked smile.

Tesla nodded with a goofy smile.  Ahri laughed.

"I'm researching Vastayans because I want to find out my true identity. My race, I want to know if it's… extinct."  She had melancholy in her eyes.  Under the table she played with her sunstones, the ones she had carried with her for so long.

"Your race?"

Ahri gave a triumphant smile, "I'm not your typical fox-vastaya."  She brought her hands back to lightly pull her cloak up, still holding his gems;  From there nine large white tails appeared.

Tesla was amazed.  "How beautiful!"

Ahri looked at him mockingly, "did you only realize that now?"  She raised her head proudly.

"In truth, no."  The man explained.  Ahri smiled mischievously.  "So you're looking for information on nine-tailed fox Vastyans?"

"Exactly."  She fitted her stones together the way they were meant to be combined and left them alone for a moment.

"Hmm," he put his hand on his chin as if in deep thought, "I don't believe I've seen anything that mentions that."

Ahri's ears lowered just a little, and if Tesla noticed he decided not to comment.

"Okay," he took his book back, "I'll keep an eye for you!"

Tesla slid down the bench and leaned against the wall;  and he went back to reading calmly.  Ahri looked at him curiously.  "...thanks."  She picked up the oldest book he had lent her and began to read.

They sat in this comfortable silence until Tesla slammed his book shut.  Ahri was slightly startled, "Ah, forgive me. Your hearing is quite sensitive, isn't it?"  He smiled gently.  The man picked up his next book and began to read.  Ahri didn't comment but appreciated the recognition.

The next few hours passed like this, with Tesla jumping from book to book while Ahri continued reading her book calmly.  She had already hidden back into her cloak and huddled against the wall.

"I'm finished."  Ahri looked at him as if he had two heads.  But he ignored her and went to return the books to their places.

The woman just took a deep breath.  'Can he really absorb any information like that?'  She wondered.
