a familiar path

I tread the same path you and I once walked,
when we were nineteen and utterly lost.
now, I am twenty one and doing better than I ever have.
back then, we walked back the same way we came, retracing our steps and yet we came up empty handed, a loose thread left untied in the story of us.
now, I am determined to finish the chapter once and for all, armed with a pen in hand and a heart decorated with the freshest roses.
