Chapter 2

Amber☝️

Hailey pov

"Why do they want me?!" I exclaimed standing to my feet

"Their 5 year old daughter is a huge fan of you" the queen replied smiling at me like everything was normal

"I can't believe this" I said falling back on the couch with my hands in my knees while Amber rubbed my back

"This is crazy" she muttered

"They are monsters" another lady exclaimed with a lot of people agreeing with her

"They are, but it's either this or war. So who is going to marry Lucas the prince of the vampire world.

Everyone started muttering to each other and some glancing at me

"I can't believe this" I repeated

"I know, you know you don't have to marry that monster" she said I looked up at her and straightened my posture

"They will treat me the best, I think I need to do this"

"No you don't" Amber said angrily

"Who knows, maybe they are all nice" I said plastering a smile on my face and looking excited

She glared

"If me sacrificing myself means everyone gets to live a little better than so be it." I said before standing up and facing the king and queen

"I will do it" I said still keeping that smile on my face. Maybe if I pretend everything is okay it will turn out okay. I said to myself

Ya sure keep telling yourself that

A voice in my head taunted

Oh shut up I told myself

Now I can see why my friends call me crazy.

The king cleared his voice

Crap I zoned out. Again

"Yes" I said

"Are you sure" the queen asked

"Yes"

The king and queen looked at each other and smiled
While everyone else gave me pitying looks, and some also sighed in relief

"Great" the king exclaimed clapping his hands together

"You will be performing a concert in their world. Everyone is invited. Its this Friday 5 pm.
The king said

"Friday!?" I exclaimed

It's Monday today so that give me 4 and a half days to prepare

"That's what they want" the king shrugged

"Any way you are free to leave or stay here and enjoy some drinks and snacks." The queen said leaving with the king

"So that happened" I said turning towards Amber

"I still can't believe you agreed"

"I would rather do it then have someone else do it."

"Can't you ever put yourself first?!"

"Nope" I grinned while Amber glared

"Plus not like I am in love with someone" I laughed

"I gave up on love a long time ago" I said

"Why?"

"It's not something I like to talk about" my face becoming serious

"Oh"

The only people that know are my close friends. Her and I are not that close.

I prefer not to talk about my late fiance James who died in a car wreck 5 years ago when I was 20.

"Well I better be going, my best friend is going to murder me when she finds out what I did"

"Good luck" Amber chuckled

"Thanks, I will need it" I muttered and started to head towards the door just to get crowded around by women thanking me for sacrificing myself.

I still can't believe I did that. A LOT of people say I have a habit of putting everything and everyone before myself.

Now I believe it. Oh boy, my friends are going to kill me. My parents would probably too, if they hadn't passed away when i was younger.

Now enough of that, I need to escape and go to my house and talk to Nico. He is my pet fox, therapist, and friend.

And there is no way in this whole universe I am leaving him. I would go insane without him.

Now back to trying to escape. Let's do this.
