The noon sun beating down on the asphalt was quite stinging, so the inside felt even cooler. Just in case, I knocked and waited for about 30 seconds before tapping the 10-digit code on the keypad.

The porch that appeared in front of him was missing his shoes. I went to the dressing room to hang up the thin coat that I had been wearing only on my arm the whole time, but the cell phone in my pocket rang.

"I think I will be a little late because the meeting is getting longer."

"If you're hungry, eat."

I was standing on the threshold of the dressing room and writing a reply, but one more word came up belatedly.

"Don't stand in front of the door today."

A dry voice seemed to be heard in his ears. I long pressed the screen to erase what I was writing and sent a reply.

"I came into the house. I'm not hungry, so don't worry, finish the meeting and come in. If you think you need to eat lunch outside, please contact me."

Since he was in a meeting, I thought he had turned off cell phone, but I didn't know, so instead of sharing it several times, I sent everything close together. I waited for a while, but there was no reply.

He took a bottle of cold water from his refrigerator and poured it into a glass. He pushed two pieces of ice cubes in the freezer and went back to the living room holding a cup. In the center of the sunny living room, the sunlight pooled in a golden circle like a puddle.

It was fortunate that I had brought the materials in my bag. On the way back, I took out a folder I had been looking at on the subway and sat down close to the table. The ice, which melted and lost its edges, rattled inside the cup every time he drank. Small water droplets formed on the outside of the glass. The rug that touched my feet was soft.

As the clock struck one o'clock, the cell phone rang. A regular vibration followed. I dropped my pen and picked up my phone.

"hello?"

- My name appears on the screen.

He said calmly. As if he was driving, the voice heard through the hands-free sounded as if I heard it from afar.

- Last time I looked at it, even the rank was open.

"... Doesn't Team leader's phone have 'TF team' in front of my name?"

- Not now.

I asked in response in a clear voice.

"Have you changed since then?"

- Now it says 'Consulting 2'.

It seems that there is a slight smile permeating through it, but I'm not sure. It's not a big deal, but I couldn't hold the corner of my mouth going up and sat down on the sofa.

- Did you eat?

"No, not yet. Has Team leader eaten?"

- Not yet. If there's something you want to eat in particular, tell me, because we can stop by and go out together.

"Specially... I don't think there is."

- Then I'll buy something on the way and bring it in. Rice or bread, which is better?

"If you don't mind, boss, I'm the type of bread."

He answered kindly.

- I knew. We'll be there in about twenty minutes. I hang off because I have to drive.

"Yes, drive safely."

- Lee Seo Dan too. don't leak anywhere else.

The phone is disconnected. I put my cell phone down. I picked up a cup with water left on the floor, took a tissue paper from the table, and wiped the table dry.
