Before I can even turn around I hear:
"Hiya Eloise! What are you doing standing by my locker?"
I was so caught up in the conversation I was eavesdropping on that I didn't realize I was standing next to Blaire's locker.
"No! No! now is not the time!" I think to myself.
"Oh hey, Blaire. I was just waiting for you actually!" I lie.
"Well you found me!" she says with that big bubbly grin.
"I uh... needed you to show me where the chemistry lab is. I'm so lost!"
"Hopefully she won't see straight through that ridiculous lie I just told."
"Oh of course! It's down Hall B, take a right and then a left and it's the first door on the left. Anything else you need?"
"Thank God!"
"Oh, no I don't need anything else. Thanks for the help!"
I start to walk away when she grabs my hand to draw me back into her pink fluffy spider web.
"Wait! I wanted to invite you over to my house tonight. Me and the girls are having a girls' night. Mani-pedis, facials, fun music and snacks! Why don't you come over and I can introduce you to everyone?!"
I don't want to be rude, but I have more important things to do.
"Thanks for the offer, Blaire. I'll have to check with my mom to see if it's ok first."
"Oh of course! I completely understand."
"Great. Well, I'll be seeing you."
"Looking forward to it El!"
I walk towards the Chem lab rubbing my eyes and massaging the place between my eyes and nose. "I'm getting a bad headache again. It must be because I have too many things going on. I just need a break!"
"Hey England, what's up?"
I turn around and there stood Amethyst... or Jaq?
"Oh hey Amethyst! I didn't see you standing there!" I laugh trying to 'play it cool' as Acadia puts it.
"I've been looking everywhere for you!"
The more I stood next to whoever this person was, my head started throbbing, worsening by the second.
"Sorry I've been lost trying to find my classes."
Not that much of a lie...
"Well you can come ask me instead of pep squad next time if you need to."
I start to get very dizzy as I stand next to Amethyst. Then I hear : "Come play with me Eloise. I'm so lonely." very softly inside my head.
"Did you hear that?" I ask Amethyst.
"Did I hear what?"
"Umm, nevermind." I say
"El, you don't look so hot. Why don't you go to the nurse's office and lie down."
I was about to say that the offer sounded great, but everything went black before I could.
